Description
The Pickleball Coordinator reports to the Director of Pickleball Operations at the YMCA of Central KY. This position is responsible for assisting the Director in the coordination of pickleball leagues, events, and activities YMCA of Central KY.
Essential Functions:
  • The Pickleball Coordinator will be responsible for execution of pickleball programs, including classes, leagues, training, special events and tournaments.
  • Supervise program participants.
  • Demonstrating proper pickleball techniques and rules to participants.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, score posting and general correspondence with participants.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination and implementation of pickleball programs and events for the Director.
  • Overseeing the coordination and limited instruction of leagues, classes, training, activities or tournaments regarding pickleball programming
  • Distribute written communication to program participants as needed.

Education and Experience:
  • Must have pickleball experience or leading a pickleball program or pickleball group
  • Teaching experience
  • Must be organized and have a high pickleball IQ
  • Certification not required but experience in pickleball is a must
  • Must be computer literate and able to navigate Microsoft Office software

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience as a pickleball instructor or professional
  • Comprehensive understanding of pickleball rules, strategies and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage with players of different skill levels

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • Administer first aid as necessary
  • Majority of time spent standing, walking, and moving.
  • Most activities are performed indoors and out doors. There is exposure to weather conditions during outdoor play time activities.
  • May be required to assist with set up of programs and courts which may include bending, reaching, lifting and carrying items up to 20-25 lbs.
