Full-Time, roughly 215 contract days with most school breaks off

"Base" hours:  9 AM - 5 PM, Tuesday - Friday; Flexible Mondays & Saturdays depending on schedule of events and nighttime obligations

Overview

Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School is seeking a dynamic and community-focused individual to join our team as a Community Engagement Coordinator. This position is instrumental in fostering positive relationships between the school, its stakeholders, and the broader community as our school continues to expand. The Community Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for managing communications, social media, and engaging with the public to enhance the school's visibility and support as the school executes its mission and expansion plans.

Responsibilities

  • Communication and Public Relations:
    • Curate and maintain the school's website as the chief editor
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to enhance the school's public image and execute on its expansion plans and CSP grant goals.
    • Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, newsletters, and other communication materials.
    • At the direction of, and in concert with, the Executive Director; act as a spokesperson for the school when communicating with the media.
  • Social Media Management:
    • Manage and curate content for the school's social media platforms, ensuring a consistent and positive online presence while implementing the school's expansion plans and CSP growth goals.
    • Monitor social media channels, engage with the community, and respond to inquiries or comments in a timely and professional manner.
    • As necessary, direct and manage others in the execution of a Social Media plan.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Lead the effort to have verbal announcements read during Advisory each day
    • Collaborate with student government and its sponsor, as requested by administration.
    • Cultivate relationships with parents, alumni, local businesses, and community organizations to strengthen ties with the school.  This includes making connections to support Work-based Learning (WBL) initiatives and more broadly engaging support for the school's expansion plans and CSP growth goals.
    • Organize and participate in community outreach events, information sessions, and open houses.  These events are often in the evening and on Saturdays.
  • Event Coordination:
    • Serve on the school's Events committee.
    • Manage and curate official school calendars.
    • Plan and execute events that promote community involvement, such as school assemblies, parent meetings, and information sessions.
    • Collaborate with other school departments to ensure successful event logistics.
  • Publications and Marketing:
    • Oversee the production of school publications, including brochures, flyers, and promotional materials.
    • Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns to attract prospective students and support enrollment efforts in line with the school's mission and CSP growth goals.
  • Feedback Collection:
    • Solicit feedback from the community through surveys, focus groups, and other means to assess satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in communications, public relations, or community outreach, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
  • Strong organizational and event planning skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with myriad stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to drive the school-owned vehicle, including completing trainings and maintaining a clean driving record
  • Familiarity with Albuquerque's local community and education landscape is a plus.

Salary Range

  • $60,000 - $90,000, depending on qualifications and experience
