Job description

We are partnering with our Berkeley, CA retail client to recruit an Event and Communications Coordinator to join their team on a contract basis during their busy event season! In this role, you will be joining an integrated communications, marketing and events team to support programming for internal company events and communications. You will be responsible for supporting departmental projects, including event planning, execution and logistics. You will tackle large and small tasks in this position, aiding in work with vendors, attendees and leaders that move project timelines forward, including everything from distilling meeting notes to communicating timelines, deadlines and other major status updates. Because this role supports internal communications and events, you should also be a skilled writer with experience creating and disseminating emails, social media posts and campaigns for staff. To be a fit, you should bring 1+ year of dedicated event coordination experience, ideally working in internal events with company staff. Experience writing and editing communications and marketing content is required at some level.
This is a hybrid role at their office in Berkeley, CA, onsite 3+ days per week depending on event schedule and collaboration needs. This role may include some travel within the US for events. Compensation ranges from $25 to $35 an hour, depending on relevant experience. As an LHH contractor, you will be eligible for medical, dental, vision and 401(K) benefits during your assignment, and will be a W2 contractor. This team is ready to move forward quickly! You will:
  • Support an integrated communications, marketing and events team to support programming for internal company events and communications
  • Coordinate projects across the department to alleviate administrative backlog and drive cohesion, clarity and timelines for internal company events and the necessary communications surrounding them
  • Serve as a Project Coordinator for this function, using project management software to provide updates, overseeing timelines, and aid in moving projects forward through a variety of tasks
  • Work with department leaders on a variety of tasks, including maintaining detailed notes, providing logistics support for
  • Write, edit and disseminate internal communications information and campaigns about events to drive engagement
Your experience should include:
  • 1+ year of professional events, communications and/or marketing experience with strong project coordination skills
  • Experience writing, editing and managing the posting process for campaigns, announcements and similar, ideally in internal communications
  • Experience in project management software (Asana or similar), CRM tools, CMS platforms
  • Comfort supporting strategic communications and events duties while also tackling administrative and logistics tasks
  • Light graphic design experience, with proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite, preferred
  • Ability to travel within the US, as needed (~10-15%)
