Position Overview

Crown Heights Behavioral Health is actively seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have specialized expertise in geriatric care, particularly in counseling seniors encountering mental health challenges associated with aging, loss, and life transitions. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will substantially contribute to improving the mental health and overall well-being of our clients, ensuring they receive empathetic, professional, and culturally competent care.

Work Environment

This position allows for a remote work setting, giving you the flexibility to serve clients from the comfort of your own space while maintaining a strong connection with our team. Our work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional evening or weekend hours required to accommodate client needs. You will have the necessary technological support and resources to conduct virtual counseling sessions effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans that adhere to evidence-based practices, ensuring personalized care for each client.
  • Provide direct counseling services focusing on loss, life transitions, and other age-related mental health issues that seniors commonly experience.
  • Complete all necessary documentation in accordance with regulatory standards in a timely manner, helping to facilitate smooth communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • Engage with the clinical team to utilize evidence-based screening tools and frameworks for assessing client needs effectively.
  • Collaborate with various interdisciplinary teams and programs to create and implement positive behavior support plans, enhancing the overall treatment experience for clients.
  • Participate actively in the agencyโ€™s licensing and accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and promoting continuous quality improvement within our services.
  • Act as a liaison with relevant service systems, state agencies, and community partners to foster care coordination and resource availability for clients.
  • Maintain open channels of communication within the organization and with external stakeholders, promoting the mission and values of Crown Heights Behavioral Health in the community.
  • Contribute to relationship building with local, state, and federal agencies to secure new partnerships and identify funding opportunities to enhance service offerings.
  • Prioritize professional development through participation in relevant training, conferences, and statewide meetings that align with the organizationโ€™s strategic goals.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, providing essential counseling for seniors coping with various mental health challenges such as grief, anxiety, depression, and other age-related transitions. By understanding the unique needs of this demographic, you will become an advocate for their mental wellness, promoting resilience and coping strategies through tailored therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
  • Minimum of 4 years of recent experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support, demonstrating a thorough understanding of age-related issues.
  • Additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health, along with a comprehensive grasp of best practices for addressing the needs of older adults.
Preferred Experience

Experience in community health settings or geriatric care facilities is highly desirable. Familiarity with digital health tools or telehealth platforms aimed at enhancing virtual counseling services will be a significant asset.
