Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Crown Heights Behavioral Health, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments for seniors and developing individualized treatment plans that account for their unique challenges.
  • Utilizing evidence-based practices, including various screening tools, to inform treatment decisions and monitor progress effectively.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement positive behavior support plans and crisis intervention strategies when required.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations.
  • Participating in licensing and accreditation processes, ensuring the clinic meets the highest standards of care.
  • Engaging actively with community resources and state agencies to ensure a continuum of care for our clients.
  • Promoting and embodying the core values and mission of Crown Heights Behavioral Health in all interactions.
  • Attending professional workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance expertise in geriatric mental health.
  • Contributing to the clinic's outreach initiatives by establishing partnerships to promote our services and gain new resources.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on older adults who face a variety of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, grief, and cognitive decline. The ideal candidate will have experience working with this population and an understanding of the specific emotional and psychological challenges they encounter. This role is critical in helping these individuals navigate their mental health journeys, facilitating positive outcomes, and enhancing their quality of life.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required for this position:

  • A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in the State of Washington.
  • A minimum of four years of demonstrated experience working in geriatric mental health or a related mental health field.
  • Proven skills in developing and implementing effective treatment strategies tailored for seniors.
Preferred Experience

We prefer candidates who have specialized training in areas pertinent to geriatric mental health, such as grief counseling, trauma-informed care, or cognitive behavioral therapy. Familiarity with cultural competencies in addressing the diverse backgrounds of our clients is also highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits
