This full-time position is remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining the critical elements of integrated care. Our telehealth setting enables counselors to engage meaningfully with clients through advanced digital platforms, ensuring accessibility and comfort for our patients. While the primary work hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, some evening hours may be required on a rotating basis, depending on client appointments.

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients to evaluate both mental health and substance use challenges, identifying co-occurring disorders and tailoring individualized treatment strategies accordingly.

• Collaborate with clients in developing personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based approaches, ensuring that interventions align with their unique circumstances.

• Provide both individual and group therapy sessions focusing on critical areas such as coping skills, relapse prevention, and emotional regulation techniques, adapted to meet client needs.

• Play a pivotal role in coordinating care alongside psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists to deliver an integrated treatment experience that addresses all aspects of a client’s health.

• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques and regular substance use monitoring to encourage client engagement and commitment to their recovery journey.

• Educate clients and their families about the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the importance of treatment compliance for successful outcomes.

• Ensure proper documentation of treatment progress, interventions, and referrals in accordance with ethical standards, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

• Participate in case conferences and staff meetings regularly to share insights, stay updated on best practices, and contribute to the overall evolution of treatment strategies.

The primary focus of this position is serving clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Our patient population is diverse, including individuals at various stages of recovery, each with unique needs and backgrounds. • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Virginia is essential.

• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapies for co-occurring disorders, including methodologies such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• An in-depth understanding of the dynamics between mental health and substance use disorders is a must.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment are critical.

While a minimum of two years of relevant experience in mental health counseling is required, candidates with a background working with co-occurring disorders and in telehealth environments are particularly encouraged to apply. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and teletherapy platforms will be considered an advantage.
