Job description

About Morning Consult
Morning Consult is a global decision intelligence company changing how modern leaders make smarter, faster, better decisions. The company pairs its proprietary high-frequency data with applied artificial intelligence to better inform decisions on what people think and how they will act.
This role will be based in our New York, NY or Washington, DC office on a hybrid basis, or remote in San Francisco, CA.
Our award-winning, modern, open-concept offices are accessible by public transportation and in close proximity to great restaurants and shopping. Join us in the office for catered lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, or grab a beverage from the fridge for an impromptu after-work happy hour!
About the Role
Morning Consult is hiring a Senior Manager, Field & Event Marketing to build and own the company's event and field marketing program. This is a new function within a newly structured marketing team led by our Chief Growth Officer, and it is the first dedicated field marketing hire at the company.
The right candidate brings two things in equal measure: the operational discipline to execute flawless events intended for an enterprise audience, and the commercial instincts to show strong ROI from experiential marketing investments. This person knows how to select the right trade shows & conferences, build the right presence, brief the right speakers, and ensure that every event investment connects back to pipeline and commercial relationships for our sellers, not just brand awareness alone.
Morning Consult's audience is senior: enterprise decision-makers, financial services executives, and policy-adjacent leaders at global organizations. Our event presence must reflect the quality of our data and the credibility of our brand. This is not a role for someone who books venues and prints lanyards. It is a role for someone who thinks strategically about how Morning Consult shows up in the market - and then makes it happen, perfectly.
What You'll Be Working On
Event Strategy & Planning
  • Own Morning Consult's annual events calendar - evaluating which conferences, trade shows, and industry forums are worth investing in, at what level, and with what goals.
  • Develop Morning Consult's event presence strategy across tiers: sponsored/exhibitor appearances, hosted client dinners and roundtables, speaking placements, and owned flagship events.
  • Build a decision framework for event investment that connects event selection to commercial priorities, target accounts, and pipeline goals - and can be presented clearly to the CGO and sales leadership.
  • Stay close to the industry calendar across Morning Consult's key verticals - enterprise, financial services, professional services, and media - to ensure the company is present where its buyers are.

Event Execution & Operations
  • Own end-to-end logistics for all Morning Consult event activations: vendor management, venue and booth coordination, sponsorship deliverables, staffing plans, shipping and on-site operations.
  • Manage multiple events simultaneously with precision, maintaining detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate pre-event sales and executive briefings, ensuring the right internal stakeholders are prepared and the right client or prospect meetings are scheduled.
  • Develop post-event follow-up frameworks in close partnership with the BDR and sales teams, ensuring leads and connections from events are promptly actioned and tracked.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key vendors, agencies, and venue partners to ensure quality and cost-efficiency at scale.

Pipeline & Commercial Impact
  • Own event ROI reporting - tracking pipeline sourced and influenced, meeting volume, attendee engagement, and cost-per-opportunity across all activations.
  • Partner with the Director, Growth Marketing on programmatic out-of-home and digital strategies that amplify Morning Consult's presence around key events and conference markets.
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Content teams to ensure events are amplified through earned media, social coverage, and post-event content.
  • Support executive visibility programs - coordinating speaking submissions, panel placements, and keynote opportunities for Morning Consult's leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary marketing partner to the Sales and BDR teams for event planning, ensuring commercial priorities drive event strategy, not the other way around.
  • Partner with Revenue Operations to ensure event-sourced leads are properly tracked, attributed, and handed off with the right context.
  • Work closely with the Communications team on event PR, speaker announcements, and press opportunities at major conferences.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on event-adjacent content - pre-event campaigns, social amplification, and post-event recaps that extend the life of each activation.

About You and What You've Done
  • 6+ years of field marketing, event marketing, or integrated B2B marketing experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked at tech startups or B2B data and intelligence companies.
  • Demonstrated track record of owning events end-to-end - from strategy and budget through on-site execution and post-event follow-up - at a pace of multiple simultaneous activations.
  • Proven ability to connect event investment to commercial outcomes: pipeline sourced, meetings held, account progression. You report on ROI, not just attendance.
  • Strong project management skills and extraordinary attention to detail. You have managed complex, multi-vendor events without things falling through the cracks.
  • Experience working in close partnership with sales teams - understanding their pipeline, their target accounts, and what they need from marketing at events to close business.
  • Comfort presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders, including the ability to articulate why certain events are worth the investment and others are not.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one event management platform: Splash, Bizzabo, Cvent, or similar.

Nice to Haves
  • Experience in a DC, San Francisco, or New York market context, with familiarity with the technology, government affairs, financial services, or media conference landscapes.
  • Background in or exposure to trade association events, think tank convenings, or professional services industry forums - alongside commercial conversion instincts.
  • Experience with programmatic or digital out-of-home tactics for event amplification.
  • Familiarity with ABM platforms (6sense, Demandbase) for pre- and post-event account targeting.
  • Comfort using AI tools to improve event operations, attendee communication, content creation, and post-event reporting.

Who You Are
  • You are calm under pressure. Events have immovable deadlines and things go wrong. You stay focused, solve problems quickly, and keep everyone around you confident.
  • You are commercially minded. You don't think about events as hospitality. You think about them as a pipeline channel - and you hold them to that standard.
  • You are highly organized and deeply reliable. Your colleagues trust you to own something and not drop it. Your vendor partners know you mean what you say.
  • You are credible in the room. You can brief a CEO on their speaking slot, talk strategy with a Sales VP, and negotiate a sponsorship contract - all in the same afternoon.
  • You understand that Morning Consult's brand must always feel authoritative and polished. You bring that to every activation you run, from a flagship conference booth to a small client dinner.

The expected salary range for this position is $107,500 - $174,900, with a midpoint of $141,200.
In most cases, we target the midpoint of our salary ranges for new hire compensation. This placement is reflective of full proficiency in a role. This role is eligible for an equity grant, which will be discussed in your initial recruiter conversation. Please see an overview of Morning Consult's benefits on our Career Page.
We are committed to a work environment that is inclusive to all and free of discrimination. It is our policy to be an equal opportunity employer without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic predisposition or carrier status, veteran status, citizenship status or any other factors prohibited by law.
