Job description

Overview

The Connectivity Standards Alliance, a 501(c)(6) standards development organization with 900+ members, including the biggest brands and companies in the world. We're looking for a sharp, organized, and proactive Event Marketing Specialist to support the planning and execution of our Unify event program. This role combines speaker management, content development, and cross-functional project coordination to help deliver high-quality event experiences from planning through post-event wrap-up.
Speaker management is at the core of the role, serving as the primary point of contact for 70+ speakers, managing outreach, scheduling, preparation, and onsite support to keep a complex, multi-speaker program running smoothly. You'll also create the content and collateral that support the event experience, including speaker guides, presentation decks, event communications, program materials, and other assets that keep attendees and speakers informed and prepared.
Success in this role requires someone who enjoys juggling many moving pieces, takes initiative without waiting to be asked, communicates proactively, and is comfortable collaborating across teams in a remote-first environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career marketing professional looking to build experience across event marketing, content development, and project management within a fast-moving small team in a mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

Speaker Management

  • Own the full lifecycle of speaker management for Unify events - from initial outreach and confirmation through scheduling, panel prep, and day-of support.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for 70+ speakers, managing communications, logistics, content deadlines, and AV/tech needs and testing onsite.
  • Build and maintain speaker databases and contact tracking, and close post-event feedback loops.
  • Coordinate scheduling and resolve conflicts across a multi-speaker program (competing slots, last-minute changes, member-company requests) proactively and diplomatically.
  • Manage on-site speaker operations: check-in, green room coordination, timing cues, and AV/production handoffs during sessions.
  • Collaborate with content, design, and executive stakeholders to align speaker narratives with campaign themes and event messaging.

Content Development & Event Communications

  • Prepare speaker-facing content including invitation and reminder emails, prep materials, run-of-show details, talking points, and fireside chat or interview prompts.
  • Ensure speaker content (bios, quotes, session descriptions) is accurate, polished, and ready for the website, program guide, and promotional use.
  • Develop presentation materials, speaker guides, and briefing documents that help presenters show up prepared and on message.
  • Draft and polish supporting event content including emails, presentations, and program guides, keeping brand voice consistent, and quality consistent.
  • Support post-event wrap-up: surveys, recap reports, asset collection, and communications.

Project Coordination & Cross-Team Efficiency

  • Help maintain project trackers and timelines (e.g., in Asana), ensuring tasks, deadlines, and dependencies remain current while proactively surfacing potential risks or blockers.
  • Utilize shared project tools to improve hand-offs and coordination for the internal team, supporting smoother cross-functional execution.
  • Provide on-site support during events as needed across speaker, content, and attendee experience.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in marketing, communications, events, or related fields - including internships, coursework, or comparable project work.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage many concurrent relationships and deadlines without dropping details - strong organizational rigor and a system for tracking status across many speakers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with sharp attention to details and able to identify gaps and inconsistencies; comfortable corresponding directly with executives, analysts, press, and external speakers on behalf of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive), Slack, and PowerPoint/Google Slides, including the ability to develop professional presentations for executive meetings and speaker preparation; familiarity with Asana is a plus.
  • A proactive, self-starter with a can-do attitude and excellent verbal communication skills; you recognize what’s needed, take initiative to create solutions, and thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to maintain calm and stay-organized under event-day pressure, with a remote first work ethic and strong async communication habits.
  • Willingness to travel to and work on-site at Alliance events, including occasional evening and weekend hours during event cycles.

Work Environment & Compensation:

  • 100% remote – candidates must be based in the U.S. and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Collaborative, high-performing, and supportive team culture
  • Standard business hours with flexibility as needed plus occasional evening and weekend hours during events.
  • The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
