The Department of Operations, Supply Chain and Business Analytics at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach OM 633: ERP and Supply Chain Technology.
Course Description
This course is part of the Master of Science in Supply Chain Analytics program curriculum. It explores how technology enables modern supply chain systems to function. It reviews fundamental concepts and procedures in planning systems and provides practical experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in areas related to supply chain management. The course applies classroom learning to real-world problems through case studies and projects and introduces Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II), and ERP systems, with hands-on exposure to platforms such as SAP or Oracle NetSuite.
Minimum qualifications:
  • A master's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems and supply chain technologies, including MRP, MRP II, and integrated planning systems.
  • Professional or teaching experience in supply chain operations, enterprise systems, or related functional areas.
  • Experience using ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or similar systems.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to teach complex technical concepts to graduate business students.
  • Per the California State University's Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

Preferred qualifications:
  • A terminal degree (Ph.D., D.B.A., or equivalent) in a relevant field or significant senior-level industry experience in supply chain management, ERP implementation, or digital transformation.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or managing ERP systems in organizational settings.
  • Prior teaching experience in supply chain management, operations, information systems, or enterprise technologies.
  • Experience designing applied, practice-oriented coursework, including case studies, simulations, and project-based learning.
  • Familiarity with emerging supply chain technologies such as cloud-based ERP, data analytics integration, and digital supply networks.
  • Experience working with industry partners or professionally oriented graduate programs.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving a diverse campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer - Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:
  • CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
