POSITION DESCRIPTION
A Evening Facilities Engineer I, ensures the functionality, safety, and efficiency of building systems and infrastructure while managing maintenance, upgrades, and compliance with regulations. In this role, you'll be the backbone of our resort's upkeep and engineering functions, ensuring a flawless experience for our guests. Under general supervision, you'll apply your expertise in cutting-edge maintenance practices, techniques, and technologies to keep our facilities in top shape. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Perform a variety of routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, making minor repairs and responding to emergency calls for service, including but not limited to any or all of the following:
  • Lighting, HVAC, and sound control systems
  • Faucets, ice makers, toilets, and dishwashers
  • Electrical light fixtures, switches and receptacles, exhaust fans, ceiling fans, water heaters and other appliances
  • Windows and doors including screen door track mechanisms, check and repair locks, repair hinges, patch drywall and mount towel holders
  • HVAC systems and equipment
  1. Ensure that buildings and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition in accordance with health and fire regulations and as directed by supervisor or director.
  2. Report unusual conditions and situations which may endanger safety and mechanical functions or operations of the resort to supervisor or manager.
  3. Maintain hand tools and power tools in good working conditions.
  4. Maintain and service kitchen and emergency equipment.
  5. Install fire extinguishers and maintain service schedule.
  6. Perform snow and ice removal duties seasonally, using hand tools and/or motorized vehicles and equipment.
  7. Service and maintain First Aid kits across the Resort.
  8. Other duties assigned, including duties in other areas of the department (e.g. landscaping tasks).

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. General knowledge of the tools, methods and materials used in building maintenance work; resort or hotel maintenance experience a plus.
  2. Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment, measure distance and calculate quantities, and read blueprints.
  3. Self-motivator who can work alone without the need for frequent supervision.
  4. Valid driver license and the ability to pass drivers background check, operate light to heavy machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
  5. High school diploma (or equivalent).
  6. Ability to use a computer or other technological devices.
  7. Problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
  8. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, receive and give instructions, and prepare work orders and reports, including via the use of a computer or other device.
  9. Must have reliable transportation; reliability and punctuality are critical.
  10. Must be able to work flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, weekdays and holidays.
  11. Ability to walk or stand and move about the resort (both indoors and outdoors) for eight or more hours per day, move on and climb a ladder, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 100 pounds.
  12. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
