Job description

About the Role:

The Evening Electrician plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and safe operation of electrical systems within a manufacturing environment during evening hours. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment and infrastructure to minimize downtime and support production goals. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential electrical issues before they impact operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. The Evening Electrician collaborates closely with maintenance teams and production staff to coordinate repairs and upgrades efficiently. Ultimately, this position contributes to the overall reliability and safety of the manufacturing facility’s electrical systems during non-standard working hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid electrician license or certification as required by state regulations.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience working as an electrician, in a manufacturing or industrial setting with ability to get a VOE
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, schematics, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently during evening shifts with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Journeyman's certification
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Additional certifications such as OSHA 10/30 or NFPA 70E electrical safety training.
  • Previous experience working evening or night shifts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic mechanical skills to assist with related maintenance tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment during evening shifts.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions promptly to reduce production interruptions.
  • Install, test, and maintain wiring, control systems, and electrical components in compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to schedule repairs and upgrades with minimal disruption.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Respond to emergency electrical issues during evening hours and provide timely solutions.
