Job Description
The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking a Creative Content Specialist to support the creation of visual content for Mizzou Football. This position will assist with creative needs across recruiting, player personnel, social media, storytelling, branding, and overall program promotion. This role is intended for a creative individual with a strong primary skill set and a distinct creative point of view. Candidates may come from a variety of creative backgrounds, including graphic design, video, motion design, illustration, photography, animation, VFX, social content creation, or other visual storytelling disciplines. The Creative Content Specialist will work collaboratively with football staff, recruiting, player personnel, creative leadership, communications, marketing, and external relations to help produce content that elevates the Missouri Football brand and supports the needs of the program.
Key Responsibilities
1. Creative Content Support (40%)
• Create and assist with football-specific content for recruiting, social media, digital platforms, print, presentations, and other program needs.
• Support the football staff with creative requests related to recruiting, player personnel, branding, storytelling, and program promotion.
• Bring a specialized creative skill set to the football content team, such as design, video, motion graphics, illustration, photography, animation, VFX, or social-first content creation.
• Contribute original ideas that help Missouri Football communicate its identity, culture, and vision.
• Assist with the development of creative materials for official visits, unofficial visits, recruiting events, game days, and other football calendar moments.
2. Brand, Recruiting, and Program Materials (35%)
• Assist in the creation of visual assets that support recruiting, student-athlete branding, coaching materials, presentations, and internal program initiatives.
• Help maintain consistency, quality, and visual alignment across Missouri Football creative materials.
• Support creative needs for digital displays, facility graphics, printed materials, social platforms, and other football brand touchpoints.
• Collaborate with recruiting and player personnel staff to help fulfill creative needs in a timely and organized manner.
3. Collaboration and Execution (20%)
• Work closely with football creative leadership, recruiting, player personnel, communications, marketing, and external relations.
• Manage assigned projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced football environment.
• Take direction and feedback while continuing to bring individual creativity and perspective to assigned work.
• Support evening, weekend, game day, and recruiting event responsibilities as required by the football calendar.
4. Other Duties (5%)
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletics administration.
• Ensure compliance with University, NCAA, and SEC rules, policies, and procedures.
Shift
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in a related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired. Experience in the following of adhering to NCAA rules and regulations is also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working within a college football program, athletics creative department, or sports creative staff.
• Strong portfolio, reel, or examples of creative work in at least one primary discipline, such as graphic design, video, motion design, photography, illustration, animation, VFX, or social content creation.
• Understanding of the pace, needs, and expectations of a football recruiting and creative environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with football staff, recruiting, player personnel, and creative leadership.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to execute within established brand standards.
• Willingness to support a variety of creative requests tied to recruiting, social media, storytelling, and program promotion.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
