Hours: Mon-Thur, Evening hours , Rotational Holiday

General Summary

Performs general, non-technical duties. Assists the technologist and physician in positioning, lifting, transferring and care of patients. Schedules patient exams and performs other clerical duties related to and in support of departmental operations. Assists with the care and maintenance of department equipment. Maintains appropriate levels of necessary supplies.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

  • Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required or
  • If enrolled as a student in the Radiological Technology School must have completed 1 year of education requirements prior to entering the specialty areas (i.e., CT, MRI and Mammography). Required

Essential Functions:

  • Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
  • Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
  • Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.
  • Secures and returns supplies such as film, linens, medicine, patient folders.
  • Monitors and orders supplies as required.
  • Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
  • Collects soiled laundry/linens and delivers to pick up point. Orders, stocks and distributes clean laundry/linens.
  • If enrolled as a student in the Radiological Technology School, performs patient care and other duties applicable to the specialty areas (e.g., CT, MRI and/or Mammography).

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment.
  • Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Operates automatic equipment to develop film.
  • Greets patients in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Replenishes all film, chemicals and replacement parts of processor and caddy.
