Please review the following job description:
This important Container as a Service (CaaS) engineering role has a primary focus of supporting the container platform ecosystem at Truist. In this role you will be contributing to and supporting the corporate Enterprise Container Strategy by identifying ideas to improve system performance, efficiency, and introducing new capabilities. This includes improving/developing automation for cluster installation, system upgrades, patch management/compliance, and monitoring the health of the overall environment.
Other important aspects of this role will be cluster capacity management and providing level two operational support. CAAS support engineer should be able to drive the troubleshooting calls and provide status updates to the management as needed. Require good understanding of the offline cluster deployments, image mirroring, networking concepts, storage options, encryption and security of the platform.
You will also be expected to work with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing and author/edit system documentation/playbook(s).
**Candidates will need to able to work during one of the following shifts***
Early morning shift, (6:00 am - 3:00 pm ET, with 1 hour break)
OR
Evening shift, (2:00 pm - 11:00 pm ET, with 1 hour break)
In addition to the above shifts, candidates will be part of on-call rotation, which may require to work after 11PM as needed to perform platform upgrade activities, which requires to work from 7PM EST to 6AM EST. Candidates are allowed to take comp off for any extra hours they spend for these activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Guide, educate, and provide thought leadership to our delivery teams as related to their optimum adoption of DevSecOps practices and framework.
2. Champion the use of DevSecOps as a strategic asset of culture change to enhance the flow of business value to our clients.
3. Make informed decisions and determine which tool best fits any given situation based on proficiencies with multiple vendor products based on each of the above capabilities.
4. Develop and recommend DevSecOps best practices.
5. Use sophisticated, analytical thought to exercise judgment and design innovative solutions for the most complex components of the DevSecOps lifecycle.
6. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
7. Provide technical and process guidance to junior team members.
8. Build and maintain the automation and streamlining of software delivery and operations for new or existing software applications through advanced proficiency and subject matter expertise in vendor tools in the DevOps lifecycle including:
a. Infrastructure as Code; Agile and Development Lifecycle Management; Source Code Management; Build Orchestration; Build Management; Artifact Repository Management; Behavior Driven Development; Test Driven Development; Automated Testing including Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Functional Testing, Smoke Testing, Regression Testing, Stress Testing, and Performance Testing; Static Code Analysis; Load and Performance Testing; Artifact Scanning; Database Schema Management, Orchestration and Recovery; Compliance Automation and Audit Trails; Configuration Management; Containers; Application Release Automation; Deployment Strategies and Patterns including Blue/Green Deployment, Canary Releases, and Rolling Releases; Logging and Log Analytics; and Performance Monitoring and Management.
9. Liaise with DevSecOps Center for Enablement (C4E) to ensure that Enterprise tools or practices are followed, and to share information about any team specific tools or practices that may benefit other teams.
10. Active participant with the Truist Agile Guild and Agile DevOps Communities of Practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training
2. Seven+ years of experience in software engineering or IT including at least four years of experience in a role in which the primary responsibility is git based application code development and/or DevOps Engineering and/or the development, maintenance, and support of CI/CD pipelines or appropriate combination of industry related professional experience and education
3. Foundational cloud architecture knowledge
4. Must demonstrate ability to write code
5. Must demonstrate ability to construct basic application build pipeline
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience working in Agile teams and knowledge of Agile development & release practices
2. Banking or financial services experience
3. Knowledge about Kubernetes design standards, patterns, and best practices
4. Knowledge about Micro-services design standards, patterns, and best practices
5. Proven track record of acting as SME for Container projects and managing the day-to-day operations of a container platform
6. Effective written and verbal communication skills and good listening skills
7. Excellent problem-solving skills - Ability to analyze problem in multiple perspectives
8. Must have a -can-do- attitude, a passion for technology, and willingness to learn new skills.
9. Must be confident, self-starter, have a strong work ethic, and team oriented. 10. Hands-on experience with at least 3-4 of the following:
  • Kubernetes
  • RedHat OpenShift
  • Scripting/automation
  • Container platform administration/support

11. Any Linux administration (preferably RHEL/CoreOS)
12. Experience with Micro-services, Gitlab, Azure DevOps/Jenkins, Rally, JFrog Artifactory/Docker Registry/RedHat Registry, Ansible, Gitops, ArgoCD
13. Have working knowledge of on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based deployments and configurations along with monitoring and alerting
14. Experience working with Agile teams and good understanding of Agile principles is a must.
