While Evcc professionals focus on managing and consulting EV charging solutions, Electric Vehicle Charging Station Installers physically install and maintain charging stations. Both roles require electrical knowledge, but Evcc roles often involve planning and system management, whereas installers handle hands-on setup. Understanding these differences helps job seekers identify the right career path in the EV infrastructure industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Electric Vehicle Charging Consultant (EVCC), and why are they important?

To thrive as an Electric Vehicle Charging Consultant (EVCC), you need a strong understanding of electric vehicle technology, infrastructure planning, and energy management, typically supported by a degree in engineering or a related field. Familiarity with charging station hardware, network management software, and industry certifications such as EVITP (Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program) is highly valued. Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills help consultants interact with stakeholders and navigate complex projects. These competencies are crucial for delivering effective EV charging solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving the adoption of clean transportation.

What are some common challenges faced by Electric Vehicle Charging Coordinator (EVCC) professionals, and how can they overcome them?

EVCC professionals often encounter challenges such as managing the installation and maintenance of charging stations, coordinating with multiple stakeholders (like utility providers, property managers, and contractors), and staying updated on rapidly changing technology and regulations. To overcome these, it's helpful to develop strong project management skills, maintain clear communication channels among all parties, and commit to ongoing professional development through training and industry events. Proactively addressing these challenges ensures smooth operations and enhances the user experience at charging facilities.

What are EVCCs?

EVCC stands for Electric Vehicle Communication Controller. An EVCC is a critical component in electric vehicle charging systems, responsible for managing the communication between the electric vehicle and the charging station. It ensures that charging protocols, such as ISO 15118, are followed for safe and efficient charging. The EVCC handles tasks like authentication, charging control, and payment transactions, enabling features like Plug & Charge. This technology is essential for the interoperability and security of modern electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Job description

Make a Difference When It Matters Most.

At Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC), we show up for pets and the people who love them on some of their hardest days.

If you thrive in fast-paced environments, believe teamwork saves lives, and want to work somewhere your voice truly matters — this could be your place.

Who We Are

EVCC was created by veterinarians, for veterinarians — and for the communities they serve. Founded by 36 local general practice veterinarians (many still actively involved today), we were built to support the veterinary community, not compete with it.

Our Westville hospital is our first location, and we are proud to bring trusted, emergency-only care to the region.

But what truly defines EVCC isn't just what we do — it's how we do it.

We:
  • Lead with compassion
  • Respect and elevate our team members
  • Support each other without ego
  • Communicate openly and professionally
  • Recognize that emergency medicine is demanding — and take care of our team because of it
What Life Is Like at EVCC

We genuinely care about whoever walks through our doors — whether it's a critical patient, an anxious pet parent, or a teammate who needs support during a tough shift.

Emergency medicine is intense. It's emotional. It's unpredictable.

But it's also deeply meaningful.

You won't be "just a coordinator" here. Your skills, instincts, and leadership matter. You will shape training programs, support career growth, and help build a culture where every team member can succeed. Growth is encouraged, not gatekept.

Your Role as a Training Coordinator

As a Training Coordinator, you have one of the most meaningful jobs at EVCC: helping others grow. You'll lead with curiosity, coach with compassion, and obsess over development. You're not just building skills—you're building confidence, momentum, and careers in emergency medicine. Whether you're working 1:1 on the floor, guiding peer-led sessions, or developing educational tools, your impact will be felt hospital-wide. You'll tailor training to every learning style and celebrate every milestone! Your work helps make EVCC a place where people learn, lead and love what they do.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Partner with leadership to identify individual and team training needs
  • Assess assistants and credentialed technicians through direct observation and real-time immersion
  • Implement EVCC training programs and serve as the go-to training lead at your hospital
  • Split your time between on-the-floor mentoring and strategic development
  • Provide tailored, hands-on training for all learning styles and skill levels with patience and understanding
  • Organize peer training opportunities and build a strong mentoring culture
  • Collaborate with the location nursing manager(s) and professional networks to broaden location-specific training needs
  • Develop and refine training content (i.e. presentations, videos, simulations, and assessments)
  • Ensure all training aligns with EVCC's culture, mission, and emergency standards of care
  • Continually evaluate and improve leveling programs for assistants and technicians
  • Encourage team members to use portions of their CE allowance to grow their skills
  • Model professionalism, positivity, and strong work ethic in every interaction
Who Thrives Here

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 3+ years of clinical veterinary experience at the Veterinary Assistant level with a minimum of 1 year in ER required
  • Active licensed Veterinary Technician in the applicate state(s) preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in training facilitation and coordination of training required
  • Hands-on knowledge of veterinary workflows, protocols, and clinic operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time-management abilities
  • Ability to lead by example and coach effectively
  • Flexibility to adjust scheduling for team training needs
  • Calm under pressure, positive, and adaptable to different learning styles
How We Invest In You

We believe people do their best work when they feel valued and supported.

WE OFFER

  • Competitive compensation (depending on experience) including base and 401K match
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits that start on day one
  • Flexible work schedules to support your life outside of work
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) because we truly believe in TREAT YOUR SELF mentality
  • License Renewal Fees covered
  • A BIG focus on learning and growing, we stipend continuing education (CE) so we are always delivering state of the art medicine to our patients
  • Mentorship and real career growth opportunities
  • And the little (big) things, like comfy scrubs and cool EVCC swag
If You're Looking For…

A hospital where:

  • Your leadership and training skills are respected
  • Your growth and development are supported
  • Your team has your back
  • Your work truly matters

We'd love to meet you.
