Job description

J.B.A. Chevrolet is a familyowned dealership proudly serving our community since 1976. As part of the J.B.A. Automotive group, we have aย strong commitment to safety and quality and provide our technicians with the tools and support needed to build longterm careers in a rapidly evolving industry.

We want to add an Automotiveย Technician with an EV focus to our team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing gas, electric, and hybrid vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards. This role is ideal for an experienced or developing technician with a strong interest in electric vehicle technology, highvoltage systems, and advanced diagnostics.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, inspect, and repair vehicles according to repair orders, dealership policies, and OEM standards.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on gasoline, hybrid, and electric vehicle systems, including but not limited toย engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and climate control.
  • Diagnose and service EV and hybrid systems such as highvoltage components, battery systems, charging systems, and related electronics, following all required safety procedures.
  • Use electronic diagnostic tools, scan tools, and service equipment to identify and resolve vehicle concerns.
  • Test drive vehicles and verify repairs to ensure quality, performance, and safety standards are met.
  • Complete warranty and nonwarranty repairs in compliance with manufacturer requirements.
  • Communicate repair findings, additional service needs, and estimated completion times with service advisors.
  • Stay current on new vehicle technology, software updates, and manufacturer training, particularly related to EV advancements.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Solid understanding of automotive repair procedures and diagnostics
  • Ability to safely use electronic diagnostic equipment and shop tools
  • Willingness to follow EV and highvoltage safety protocols
  • Dependable, detailoriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience as an automotive technician in a dealership or professional service environment.
Preferredย 
  • ASE certifications or OEM training
  • Experience with advanced diagnostics, electrical systems, or hybrid/EV vehicles.
  • Interest in continued learning as vehicle technology evolves.
Pay & Benefits
Compensation
  • Compensation is $25.00-$50.00 per flat rate hour.ย 
    • Rate is determined by experience, technical skill, and certifications.
