The Role

The role of the position is to diagnose issues and repair EV charging stations which may include hardware replacement, upgrades, and electrical system maintenance and repair for various types of EV charging equipment. The position is also responsible for servicing and installing various electronic equipment to include security and Point of Sale. Site safety, documentation, and reporting are essential to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot various issues and repair them correctly and timely.
  • Perform Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) testing.
  • Perform upgrades and revisions as needed.
  • Manage various testing requirements such as torque, thermal imagery, insulation (megger) and performance reports.
  • Locate system performance issues and fix ground faults.
  • Communicate with colleagues and customers regarding scheduling and to provide work status updates.
  • Correctly review work orders, manuals, and drawings to correctly perform maintenance and service of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, inspect, replace/repair a wide variety of electro-mechanical devices such as cash registers, coin changers, security equipment, alarms, and point of sale equipment.
  • Complete service requests and maintenance repair items in a timely manner and ensures all requests are handled in a professional manner.
  • Utilize various testing devices, multiple hand and power tools related to the job.
  • May be temporarily assigned to other geographical area to provide support with new installations and upgrades.
  • Other duties as required

Requirements and Skills

  • One+ year experience working in an electrical capacity or education.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.
  • Experience with EV Charging Stations or other power-related electronics is a plus.
  • Electrical certifications or licenses a plus.
  • Must be able to work independently and be a strong problem-solver.
  • Strong attention to safety and willingness to follow all safety protocols.
  • CPE250 Standalone, CPE250 Paired, CT4000, and the CPF50 training a plus!
  • 24/7 on-call rotation with other techs in your area.
  • Experience with various POS systems (Verifone/NCR) and alarm systems are a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good driving record is required.
  • Ability to use a computer and smartphone proficiently.
