Pet Emergency and Referral Center is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department. Our team is comprised of dedicated veterinary professionals that put an emphasis on truly caring for our patients.
Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Part-time or Full-time schedules available, Mondays through Thursdays, 8am-6pm

PERC in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida is a busy and growing 24-hour Emergency and Specialty hospital offering a fast-paced work environment. The Emergency service is staffed by seasoned Veterinarians to provide high quality medical care to our patients around the clock, while working within a culture of true teamwork and collaboration with the Specialty departments, who offer referral and continued care for critically ill patients.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Veterinary Technician who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about patient care. This role supports a dynamic internal medicine team and will involve a wide range of responsibilities, from technical procedures to direct client communication.Internal Medicine Technician Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting Internists in all aspects of daily appointments and patient care
  • Seeing multiple appointments per day and managing complex cases
  • Advanced IV catheter placement, phlebotomy, and accurate drug calculations
  • Performing in-hospital lab testing and preparing specimens for outside labs
  • Assisting with diagnostics including endoscopy, radiology, ultrasound, BP monitoring, and glucose monitoring
  • Monitoring anesthesia and assisting with procedures
  • Providing high-quality nursing and husbandry care for hospitalized patients
  • Accurately administering treatments, medications, and diagnostics, and documenting all care in medical records
  • Communicating effectively with clients, including financial estimates and follow-up instructions
  • Maintaining legally defensible medical records in cooperation with veterinarians
  • Participating in nursing rounds and contributing to collaborative patient care
The Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum 1 year of prior experience in a Veterinary Internal Medicine specialty department OR licensed/certified veterinary technician (LVT/CVT)
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of veterinary procedures and pharmacology
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new software
  • Dependable, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
  • Fluent in English; additional languages a plus
