Position Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure manufacturing processes meet daily output targets while improving safety, productivity, and product quality. This is a fully onsite position within our Greenfield, IN manufacturing plant.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
  • 4-year degree in engineering or technology or equivalent experience and education
  • 5+ years' work experience in process engineering
  • Knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards
  • Knowledge of computer programs necessary to perform job duties

Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of related automotive work experience in high-volume, precision processes
  • Knowledge of die casting and PLC systems and programming
  • Knowledge of robots (Fanuc, Yaskawa Motoman, etc.)
  • Machine, valve, and vacuum systems knowledge

Position Duties and Responsibilities / Time Spent
  • Provide engineering support to production departments : 30%
  • Interact with production departments to develop and improve manufacturing: 20%
  • Identify, coordinate and recommend cost savings and efficiency ideas: 15%
  • Schedule and coordinate timely preventive maintenance of equipment : 15%
  • Produce reports to show impact of activities and attend meetings as required : 10%
  • Support cross-training efforts by providing guidance and direction: 5%
  • Other duties as assigned: 5%

  • Designs, implements, tests and evaluates manufacturing processes and system improvements
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Communicates effectively, both written and verbally, across all levels of the organization
  • Leads, trains, and supports team members while promoting high standards and continuous improvement
  • Manages multiple responsibilities independently, adapting effectively to changing priorities
  • Identifies and recommends cost-saving, efficiency, and productivity improvements
  • Maintains accurate process, design, and documentation standards
  • Sustains a clean, organized, and compliant work environment
  • Maintains working knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment
  • Troubleshoots and resolves equipment, system, and process manufacturing issues

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • No direct reports

Software:
  • Advanced level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate experience required in Windows and MSWord
  • Intermediate experience preferred with AutoCAD and/or CATIA

Essential to Job Functions - Physical and/or Mental Restrictions:
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time while sitting
  • Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds
  • Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required
  • This position is classified as exempt under applicable wage-and-hour laws. As such, the employee is expected to exercise independent judgment and to work the time required to meet job responsibilities, which may include working in excess of 40 hours per week.
