What is an estate sales manager?

Estate sales managers are professionals who organize and oversee the sale of personal property from estates, often due to downsizing, relocation, or after a homeowner has passed away. They handle all aspects of the sale, including appraising items, pricing, marketing, staging, and managing the actual event. Estate sales managers coordinate with clients, advertise the sale, and ensure items are sold efficiently and ethically. Their expertise helps maximize profits and ensures a smooth process for families during what can be a difficult time.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an estate sales manager?

To thrive as an Estate Sales Manager, you need expertise in appraisals, inventory management, sales strategy, and often a background in business or related certification. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, online auction platforms, and valuation tools is typically required. • Maintain consistent follow-up with property owners, prospective sellers, buyers, and other leads.
  • Monitor commercial real estate market trends, cannabis industry trends, and emerging markets to identify new development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders throughout the acquisition, development, sales, and closing process.
  • Help identify creative strategies for generating new commercial real estate opportunities and expanding the company's portfolio.
Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in B2B sales, cold calling, business development, lead generation, prospecting, account development, or a related sales role preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate leads and build a sales or business development pipeline.
  • Comfortable conducting cold calls and high-volume outbound prospecting.
  • Strong sales mentality with the ability to initiate conversations, build relationships, overcome objections, and identify opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal communication, presentation, relationship-building, negotiation, and persuasive communication skills.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, sales pipelines, lead-generation campaigns, and prospect follow-up.
  • Self-motivated, persistent, and comfortable working toward measurable sales and business development goals.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively identify new opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects, deals, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
