Job Summary

The Data Intelligence & Analytics (DnA) organization is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Subscriber Lifecycle & Commerce Analytics team supporting the measurement and understanding of trends and drivers behind streaming platform engagement across Disney's streaming service offerings (Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN). Our team masters exploratory data analysis, reporting, data visualization, and storytelling to deliver actionable insights and provide recommendations to drive business decision-making. This role will help to develop methodologies for decomposing engagement into its core content, subscriber, and product drivers and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to develop frameworks for understanding our audiences and the relationship between engagement and retention. The right person for this role is analytically curious, detail-oriented, and eager to grow their analytical skillset.

Responsibilities

  • Support engagement trend analyses and ad hoc deep dives into the content, subscriber, and product drivers of key engagement KPIs.
  • Uncover insights to help optimize the content portfolio to drive quality engagement hours, partnering closely with stakeholders across Content Planning, Partnerships, Programming, Product, and Marketing teams.
  • Assist in the development of new metrics and analytical approaches to measure engagement trends and audience behavior.
  • Use SQL and data visualization tools to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and communicate findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Effectively communicate results through compelling data storytelling across the organization, both in oral presentations and via written reports.
  • Build strong relationships with strategic and operational business teams to understand data needs and support ongoing analytical requests.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on analytical work experience with SQL.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Experience working with large data sets and interpreting data trends using a multitude of disparate data sources and tools.
  • Familiarity with data exploration and data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot data issues, analyze root causes, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Highly collaborative with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in the streaming media industry and/or supporting a direct-to-consumer or subscription-based product.
  • Passion for TV, film, and entertainment.
The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $97,500 to $130,700 per year and in New York, NY is $102,100 to $136,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
