What We Need

We're looking for a passionate Staff Data Analyst to support the Sports* Game Science & Insights team, to explore, analyze, report, and action on data from our portfolio of titles (WWE 2K, PGA TOUR 2K). We're looking for someone who can translate product & business knowledge into deep analysis and, in turn, translate to actionable insights for cross functional business stakeholders. As you deliver valuable insights to stakeholders, you will aim to build strong relationships, become a trusted partner among business functions, and scale out team efforts from one team to the next. Our mission is to enable our partners to be more proactive, productive & successful by providing best in class, end-to-end and scalable data solutions.

What You Will Do
  • Leverage a deep understanding of how our titles' game features & mechanics work and our business priorities to deliver actionable, business-impacting insights

  • Support business narratives and develop business cases with effective data storytelling. Focus on using data and hypothesis-driven decision-making to drive future growth and customer lifetime value

  • Learn different business teams' and stakeholders' ways of working and preferences for understanding data, and be a bridge between the data team and business teams (Product, Marketing, Commercial) to translate complex business needs into data-related projects

  • Tailor the output to match stakeholder needs, including reports, visualizations, charts, and tables

  • Gain an understanding of internal titles outside of our portfolio (NBA 2K, Borderlands, other 2K titles) to provide strong benchmarking and comparison points for business performance

  • Lead the exploration of creative new ways of measurement to identify patterns and causal relationships

  • Empower teams to track and analyze activity/productivity and support their research projects, leading the efforts towards building scalable self-service tools

  • Act as a subject matter expert to support analysts and other data-users to improve their capabilities. Grow and develop best practices that contribute to both the team and wider business understanding of our players

  • Data doesn't just appear overnight, we work with our stakeholders to understand what data matters most to their business and strategy. In addition to delivering insights on what is available to us, this role will be responsible for liaising with stakeholders to proactively identify what data we need to begin to record for future initiatives that drive value

  • Track record of successfully leading the delivery of insights and analysis across business functions (Product, Commercial, Marketing)

  • Proven ability to produce impactful insights that resulted in tangible enhancements to product or business outcomes

  • Profound knowledge in SQL

  • Great communication skills and a clear understanding of how to make insights understandable and actionable for the business

  • High degree of proactivity and curiosity to understand, measure, and improve our understanding of our players and their behaviour

  • Ability to lead the delivery of complex projects, manage changing priorities and coach others to success

  • Understanding internal customer satisfaction as one of your key success factors

  • Profound experience in data modeling (strong nice to have: data science language, such as Python or R)

The pay range for this position in Novato, CA at the start of employment is expected to be between $133,900 and $180,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.

Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for employees in regular roles may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, provided that temporary or intern roles will not be eligible for many of these payments or benefits. Details of participation in compensation and benefit plans (if applicable) will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
