Hours/Shifts Worked: Full-Time, Monday Through Friday, Evening or weekend work required.


Compensation (Based on experience): $100,000-$120,000


Position purpose: Provides prenatal, obstetric, well-woman and gynecological care to adult patients in both the ambulatory and in-patient setting using primary care concepts, emphasizing prevention of illness and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Participates in program planning of health activities within the Health Center and in the community as requested. 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages ambulatory primary care medical practice by eliciting patient histories, performing physical examinations, providing accurate clinical diagnoses, prescribing evidence based and cost-effective treatments and providing patient education.
  • Adheres to Esperanza Health Centers Team Productivity standard of 2.3 patients per hour.
  • Maintains and promotes patient satisfaction through acknowledgement that environmental, social and cultural factors influence one's health including using AIDET in all patient interactions.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities of the health center including peer review, and other designated projects.
  • Practices evidence based, cost effective primary care in a team approach model.
  • Makes appropriate diagnoses and writes prescriptions and referrals consistent with Esperanza Health Centers medical practice guidelines.
  • Prepares, implements and documents age specific preventative health schedules for patients.
  • Builds and maintains a Primary Care practice with follow-up of return appointments and referrals, in-patient management and other methods that assure continuity of care.
  • Maintains clinical competency through regular continuing medical education and provides documentation of such to Administration.
  • Provides inpatient OB/GYN care for Esperanza patients at appropriate hospitals as assigned by the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Midwifery Medical Director. Inpatient call schedule will be determined based on the needs of health center patients.
  • Maintains liaison with the partner hospitals' medical staff and ambulatory care departments through obtaining and maintaining Hospital privileges, attendance at department and section meetings and attending physician teaching duties.
  • Take calls for Esperanza Health Centers patients as assigned by the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Midwifery Medical Director

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing School.
  • Completed an Accredited Post-Graduate Training Program.
  • Current IL State License, Controlled Substance License, and DEA registration.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. 
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
