Job description

Green Acres Baptist Church is looking for a dynamic leader to shepherd the Espanol campus through faithfulness to the preaching of the Word, development of leaders for the ministry, and ministering to the needs of its members. Endeavor to stay spiritually sensitive to the Holy Spirit through prayer and Bible study. Lead through the right example of life in the Spirit and service to the Lord.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff. 
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the ministry.
  • Develop ministry leaders by training, mentoring, and investing in their lives
  • Oversee the flow of Sunday services, ensuring all positions are covered. 
  • The chief person responsible for maintaining unity between the Espanol Campus and the main Campus.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Promote unity between GABC Español and GABC Tyler by constantly reminding campus members that we are one church. Take every opportunity to promote and advocate for the lead pastor in the eyes of campus members.
  • Oversee budget, personnel, and ministry leaders directly
  • Perform pastoral duties as requested, including hospital visitation, weddings, funerals, and pastoral counseling
  • Plan for and promote, lead worship service, and Connect Group Ministry
  • Assist in the enlargement and improvement of the church's organization for reaching, winning, teaching, and training 
  • Collaborate with GABC staff and lay leadership to provide facilities and resources, including space, equipment, and supplies
  • Provide primary pastoral care and preaching to those members who attend GABC in Español.
  • Plan and attend mission trips as needed
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Lead Pastor and Espanol Supervisor.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Must be bilingual
  • Strong character and compassion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of related experience preferred. 
  • College degree or seminary, preferred.
  • Ordained and licensed, preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • The candidate must be able to stand, walk, sit, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • The candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds of books, equipment, or materials.
  • The candidate must be able to speak clearly and audibly in front of large groups of people.
  • The candidate must be able to travel by car, plane, or public transportation to various locations as needed.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a variety of settings, including indoor and outdoor environments, with varying levels of noise and temperature.
  • The candidate must be able to cope with stress, fatigue, and emotional challenges that may arise from ministering to families with diverse needs and backgrounds.
