Description
The Department of JSU Global/Division of Research Economic Development at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Instructor, ESL Program.
Examples of Duties
  • Provides in classroom and virtual instruction, assessment of language abilities, and academic advisement for the ESL program.
  • Writes and administers diagnostic exams to assess proper placement within the ESL program.
  • Creates new courses, recruits' students, plans and facilitates educational and cultural programming.
  • Clerical duties as assigned in support of the daily function of JSUGlobal.

Typical Qualifications
  • Strong command of another language other than English preferred (not required).
  • Advanced coursework in foreign language teaching and applied methodology.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and facilitate cultural programming for ESL students both on and off campus.
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience.
