POSITION OPENING: ELD Elementary Teacher - Inspire and Empower Young Minds!

WHAT WE NEED:
1. Valid State Teacher Certification Granted by the Professional Teaching Standards Board.
2. Bachelor's Degree with major or minor in English (000EX) and ESL Endorsement (NS)
3. Evidence of ability to establish working relationships that result in mutual respect.
4. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
5. Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
WHAT YOU NEED:
1. Works cooperatively with administrators, student services personnel and teachers, to ensure the delivery of
curriculum
2.Screens Home Language Surveys
3.Conducts assessment of eligibility in the English Learner program
4.Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the abilities of the students and provides social and emotional support for English Language Learners
5.Guides the learning process toward the achievement of established District curriculum goals
6.Establishes and communicates clear objectives to the students for all lessons, units and projects
7.Acts as a liaison between the students and other teachers, staff members and family
8.Administers specialized ESL assessments including WIDA Access and WAPT
9.Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, provides progress reports as required, and communicates with parents while also providing families with opportunities for socialization and acculturation
10.Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by the law, District policy and administrative regulation
11.Attends District meetings and serves on District committees as required
12.Participates in in-service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned
13.Attends established school related activities
14.Participates in curriculum related and program activities that are part of the regular district program
15.Attends IEPs, Section 504 or other related meetings necessary for student assessment and/or compliance with federal and/or state law
16.Establishes partnerships with the community as appropriate in support of the academic program
