Job description

Cambridge Associates (CA) is a global investment firm that provides a range of services including outsourced CIO, portfolio management, and investment consulting. The Private Equity Research Team conducts industry research and performs due diligence on private equity funds across a variety of strategies, such as leveraged buyouts, growth equity, and distressed investing.

Job Responsibilities
  • Aid senior team members in developing house opinions on private equity fund managers and markets through qualitative and quantitative research and analysis.
  • Utilize analytical frameworks and develop unique analyses to assess private equity funds in terms of organization, investment strategy, performance, fund terms, current portfolio companies, and other key attributes.
  • Help source new investment opportunities through CA’s network, advisor relationships, and other industry sources; input and track opportunities through Salesforce CRM.
  • Monitor existing managers by attending and participating in meetings with fund general partners and other senior personnel.
  • Strengthen ESG data, analytics, and capabilities that support investment decisions, monitoring and reporting, value creation, and best practices.
  • Produce investment recommendations and due diligence reports utilized by colleagues and clients to support investment decisions, including meeting summaries with fund managers, in-depth due diligence reports, and other periodic research such as white papers on current industry topics.
  • Help lead reference calls with portfolio company CEOs and other industry participants.
  • Serve as a resource to colleagues seeking information on investment opportunities, including data and analysis, comparisons across fund managers, and the research team’s opinions.
  • Prepare for and participate in firm‑wide, global meetings to discuss private equity and venture capital markets.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (any major) with a record of achievement.
  • Strong, demonstrated interest in investments with zero to three years of work experience.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and initiative.
  • Demonstrated command of written communication and strong business writing skills.
  • Ability to engage in conversation with internal and external parties, including senior investment managers and references.
  • Strong Excel skills preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team under tight deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically.
  • Cover letter required for consideration.

Base salary range for this role: $80,000 – $88,500. In addition to the listed salary range, the position is eligible for an annual performance‑based bonus and a comprehensive, competitive benefits package.
