Job description

The Bike Officer's main duty is to monitor and patrol (on bike or foot) all assigned areas ensuring a safe environment for our guests, employees and the company property
Job Focus:
Focus is on, but not limited to the following:
  • Patrols all assigned areas to maintain order
  • Escorts trespassed individuals off property ensuring that they have completely been removed from property before continuing to patrol
  • Assists guests in locating lost vehicles
    Responsible for maintaining assigned bicycle in operating and safe condition
  • Acts as a first responder to all auto accidents including the preliminary investigations and any follow up as required
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity or persons on the property grounds
  • Utilizes tactical communications skills and non-physical methods to diffuse potentially harmful or volatile situations

Desired Qualifications:
  • A minimum of one (1) year prior Security Bike Officer experience in the Casino/Hotel, Military, Security or Law Enforcement field is required
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in the Hotel/Casino industry, preferably in a Security capacity
  • Prior experience as an EMT is desirable but not required
  • Previous bicycle maintenance experience is a plus
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Previous experience in a high-end luxury Gaming or Hospitality environment is desired
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal forms
  • A professional demeanor and attire is to be maintained at all times
  • Commitment to the highest level of integrity must be shown and maintained at all times
  • Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Must be able to perform in a team environment
  • Possess the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of staff and leadership
  • Must have exceptional time management skills
  • An intermediate to proficient understanding of Computer systems such as: Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook is preferred
  • A strong ability to work independently with little monitoring is required
  • Proven ability to resolve guest conflicts with ease or determine if management is needed in certain guest situations
  • Ability and personality to deliver great customer service
  • A valid Nevada Gaming License, Alcohol Awareness Card and Nevada Driver's License are required and must be presented and maintained throughout the course of employment
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Must complete a psychological evaluation, paid for by SAHARA Las Vegas, and accompanying interview, and pass with a satisfactory/passing score. Results will be forwarded to SAHARA Las Vegas Human Resources as pass/fail
  • Must participate in and pass company paid pre-employment firearms qualification
  • Must submit to and pass company paid drug screen test
  • Must submit to company paid background check
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Alcohol Awareness
  • Must pass Physical Agility Test consisting of a 100-yard dash - 30 second time limit, 150 LBS sandbag/dummy drag - 1 minute time limit, and 15 pushups. - 1 minute time limit. Initial and Annually
  • Must hold and maintain a State of Nevada CCW permit or Law Enforcement HR 218
  • Complete and pass a TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care) tactical response courses of the company's choosing. Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate. Previous military or law enforcement experience is required. Effective time management and multi-tasking abilities are a must, a professional appearance is required.
