Job description

The Greene County ESC is currently accepting applicants for a Classroom Assistant. The position will provide support to the Teacher or instructional program within assigned classroom with responsibility for working with individual and/or small groups of students in various areas; as well as provide clerical support to teacher/s and staff.

Classroom Assistant Duties:







  • Perform relevant and appropriate tasks and interactions with the assigned student or group as requested by the teacher.
  • Experience with special needs students/students who are behaviorally challenged.
  • Assist teacher in classroom in a variety of classroom situations.
  • Assist with behavioral issues as directed by the Intervention Specialist or Director.
  • Ability to work as a team member and take direction from others.
  • Collaboration and communication skills-ability to be part of a team.
  • Strong attendance record.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed-care techniques.
  • Training in Positive Behavior Supports and nonviolent Crisis Prevention (CPI) preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children with challenging behaviors preferred.
  • Understands need to maintain confidentiality for all students.
  • Assignment for this year at Greene County Learning Center in Yellow Springs, Ohio 


Must have or be able to obtain educational aide license through ODE.
Start Date:  August 2026
Salary:  $16.00- $22.00 per hour
