FUNCTION: James Fisher Technologies (JFT) is seeking an experienced ERP Project Manager to lead the implementation of our Epicor Kinetic ERP system. This is a contract position expected to last approximately 12 months and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving all aspects of the ERP implementation from project kickoff through successful go-live and transition to operations.

The ERP Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison between JFT leadership, Epicor, implementation consultants, and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will ensure the project remains on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business objectives while effectively managing risks, scope, communications, and organizational change.

This position is focused on project leadership rather than long-term system administration.

REPORTING TO: Chief Financial Officer

Requirements:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Objectives

  • Successfully implement Epicor Kinetic as JFT’s enterprise resource planning system.
  • Deliver the project on schedule and within budget.
  • Minimize business disruption throughout implementation.

  • Work directly with internal stakeholders across departments to drive timely decision-making, and hold business owners and team members accountable for completing assigned action items and deliverables on schedule.
  • Partner closely with JFT's ERP Systems Manager throughout the engagement, not only during transition, to ensure configuration and process decisions reflect long-term system ownership.
Vendor & Consultant Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with Epicor and implementation partners.
  • Coordinate consulting resources and hold vendors accountable for project deliverables.
  • Review statements of work, implementation plans, and project schedules.
  • Maintain a tracking log of all vendor and consultant SOWs, ensuring deliverables, milestones, and change orders are documented and reconciled against contracted scope.
  • Escalate issues and facilitate timely resolution.

  • Facilitate decision-making regarding system configuration and business process changes.
  • Develop and execute a change management and communication plan.
  • Promote organizational readiness and user adoption.
  • Coordinate the documentation of future-state business workflows and standard operating procedures with department leaders and implementation partners, ensuring process documentation is complete and validated prior to go-live.
Risk & Issue Management
  • Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project scope and change requests.
  • Escalate significant issues to executive leadership with recommended solutions.
  • Maintain overall project governance.
Testing & Deployment
  • Coordinate conference room pilots, system testing, user acceptance testing, and production readiness.
  • Ensure business owners complete testing and sign-off activities.
  • Coordinate cutover planning and go-live activities.
  • Support stabilization during the post-implementation period.
Communication
  • Provide regular executive status reports highlighting schedule, budget, accomplishments, risks, and upcoming milestones.
  • Ensure project documentation remains current.
  • Maintain transparency across all project stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of ERP implementation project management experience.
  • Experience leading at least one full-cycle ERP implementation.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external consulting partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, drive decisions, and hold cross-functional team members accountable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with government contractors or DCAA/FAR-compliant organizations, including sensitivity to how ERP configuration decisions affect cost accounting and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification.
  • Experience implementing Epicor Kinetic or another manufacturing ERP platform.
  • Experience with engineer-to-order or project-based manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Inventory, Purchasing, Project Accounting, and Engineering business processes.
