The ERP Functional Analyst supports the implementation, stabilization, and ongoing optimization of the company's ERP platform. This role leads functional testing, validation, documentation, and user enablement across core operational processes including estimating, order entry, item configuration, planning, manufacturing, warehousing, and invoicing.


This position is a hands-on, mid level individual contributor role requiring strong ERP functional knowledge, attention to detail, and effective cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and IT.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


ERP Implementation

  • Execute and coordinate end to end functional testing across ERP modules to ensure accuracy, data integrity, and process alignment.
  • Perform cost center testing, template setup and validation, confirming correct financial behavior and reporting outcomes.
  • Validate portal (DE) order flows from order creation through fulfillment and billing.
  • Configure and validate item master data, including finished goods, customer-owned inventory and manufactured parts.
  • Test and validate invoicing workflows, including pricing, sales tax breakouts (RTN), revenue recognition, and freight billing.


Post Go-Live Support & Optimization

  • Serve as a primary functional ERP support resource following go-live.
  • Triage, analyze, and resolve issues related to order entry, item setup, planning, manufacturing, warehousing, and billing.
  • Distinguish between user error, process gaps, and system defects; escalate technical issues with clear documentation and reproducible test cases.
  • Monitor transaction flows and system outputs to ensure processes perform as designed.


Continuous Improvement & Validation

  • Perform ongoing validation of master data, templates, and configurations to maintain system integrity as business needs evolve.
  • Retest impacted processes following system patches, configuration changes, or business process updates.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or improve ERP usage based on operational feedback.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure system behavior remains aligned with business processes.


Documentation Ownership & Training

  • Create and maintain ERP documentation as living content covering estimating, order entry, part creation, planning, purchasing, shop floor, warehouse and billing processes.
  • Update procedures to reflect post go-live changes, stabilization learnings, and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop and deliver role-based training, refresher sessions, and onboarding support for new users.


Metrics, Feedback & Adoption Support

  • Track recurring issues, user questions, and process breakdowns to identify trends.
  • Provide structured insights to leadership on adoption challenges, process pain points, and training needs.
  • Contribute data and recommendations to continuous improvement initiatives.


Requirements

Education, Experience and Training (Knowledge):

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree or in lieu of degree, 6 years directly related work experience.
  • 3-6 years of specific experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing, supply chain, or operations environment.
  • Solid understanding of order-to-cash, manufacturing, inventory, planning, and purchasing processes.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or major process changes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience and understanding of print, mail, or fulfillment operations preferred.

Skills and abilities:

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to translate system behavior into clearly documented SOPs.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
