About the Position

This position will use their skillset to weld metal tanks and/or components used in the production of transformers at Power Partners (a division of ERMCO). This hands-on role requires precision, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. Youโ€™ll contribute directly to our mission by ensuring each unit meets our rigorous standards and reflects our core values.


What you will do

Understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions with regards to welding various metal and/or fabricating components to assemble distribution transformers as specified by layout, blueprint, diagram, work order, welding procedures, or oral instructions using various welding equipment. Must have prior training/experience and must ensure safe and proper start-up, operation, maintenance, and shutdown of equipment. Repeated lift/move material that is 50+ lbs. with or without assistance from lifting devices. Handle material and use hand/power tools as needed to perform required tasks. Ensuring conformity of all welds and final products assembled to standards. Follow all safety policies and procedures.


Necessary Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • Understand and follow instructions (spoken and written).
  • Use electronic devices like iPads or computers.
  • Stay organized and pay close attention to details.
  • Do basic math, including decimals and small fractions.
  • Lift safely using proper techniques.
  • Use hands and arms to handle tools and materials.
  • Measure accurately using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Use tools like grinders, air chisels, and box cutters.
  • Operate lifting equipment such as overhead hoists.
  • Lift/push over 50 lbs. and pull up to 110 lbs.
  • Stand and walk frequently; occasionally sit, bend, reach, or kneel.
  • Have good vision, including depth perception and focus adjustment (20/40 vision or better with or without glasses/contacts).
  • Follow all safety rules and department-specific guidelines.
  • Wear required safety gear, including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, welding hood, and hearing protection.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 Years of Consistent work history
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience
  • 1 year of welding experience (School or Job)
  • Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with standard computer systems and applications.
