The Equity Research department covers over 925 stocks across diverse sectors, and provides equity strategy, quantitative analysis and portfolio management services to our clients. The US Equity Research department consists of 31 analysts and ~50 associates, covering over 500 stocks.

Description:

We are seeking two Equity Research Associates to join our Semiconductor team. The associates will work closely with the senior analyst to develop and market all equity research products. Both roles require strong analytical / critical thinking skills, a passion for the stock market, keen attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

The work environment involves collaboration, co-ordination and a shared knowledge base with the analyst and rest of the team but equally values independence, initiative, idea generation and a sense of ownership for the work.

Ideal Candidate:

Ideally, our team will consist of two associates as follows:

a Senior Associate with has 2-3 years of equity research experience, prior industry knowledge, and the requisite research licenses (SIE, Series 7, 63, 86, 87); and an Associate who has strong technical skills and is eager to join an equity research team. A demonstrated interest in Semiconductor or Hardware Technology is a plus. Licenses or prior experience for the second associate is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Building and maintaining detailed company models (IS/BS/CF)
  • Building and maintaining market models
  • Analyzing financial statements and news related to industry coverage
  • Writing equity research reports and over time, formulating investment theses
  • Assist with new initiations and detailed reports on companies
  • Keeping current on healthcare trends and industry dynamics
  • Participation in site visits and management meetings
  • Maintaining and analyzing industry data
  • Communicating investment recommendations to internal and external clients
Experience/Skills:

A combination of exceptional writing skills, technical knowledge and skills in equity research, finance or accounting demonstrated through relevant work and educational experience is required. Prior industry experience in the healthcare is a strong plus. Candidates must have a clear and proven track record of achievement throughout their education and career. Other necessary attributes include:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • A keen interest in and demonstrated understanding of Equity Research
  • A positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, the ability to learn quickly and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to gather market data and proficiency in services (e.g., Gartner) is preferred
  • Superior work ethic, self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to systematically manage a heavy work load and meet stringent deadlines
  • Flexibility to work irregular or extended hours
  • Solid technology skills with robust knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg
  • Clinical & regulatory literacy (understanding of the FDA approval landscape, ability to interpret clinical trial data)
  • Familiarity with the "Payer" landscape, including CPT codes, DRGs, and the impact of CMS
  • Experience leveraging secondary data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony, or hospital supply chain data)
  • Demonstrated use of AI in the workplace
  • CFA is a plus
Education:

Bachelor's degree is required. A post-secondary degree in a related field of study is a plus. U.S. only.

Senior Research Associate Base Salary Range:

The salary range for this role is $150,000 up to $200,000 USD (subject to the candidate meeting the specific skills, experience, education, and qualification requirements)

Equity Research Associate Base Salary Range:

The salary range for this role is $110,000 up to $140,000 USD (subject to the candidate meeting the specific skills, experience, education, and qualification requirements)

Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
