Role Overview:

H.I.G. Capital is seeking a Valuation Manager to join our Finance Team in our Boca Raton, Florida office. Reporting to the Senior Valuation Manager(s) and the Chief Financial Officer, Private Equity, Growth and BioHealth Funds, this individual will be responsible for the oversight and technical review of portfolio company valuations.

The Valuation Manager will work closely with teams across the organization, including Deal Teams, Accounting, Investor Services, Compliance, and Capital Formation, to support the valuation process for assigned funds. This role offers broad exposure across the firm while maintaining a core focus on valuation analysis, process management, financial reporting, and the continued enhancement of H.I.G.'s valuation infrastructure.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day valuation process, including deliverable tracking, presentation reviews, valuation model reviews, and completion of ad hoc deliverables.

  • Coordinate valuation reviews with third-party service providers.

  • Guide Deal Teams in the completion of valuation models in accordance with H.I.G.'s valuation policy and applicable external reporting guidance.

  • Support the onboarding of new portfolio investments onto the valuation technology platform in accordance with established valuation processes and policies.

  • Partner with Deal Teams to compile and review supporting documentation for financial assumptions and comparable company analyses used in valuation models.

  • Assess key assumptions underlying income, market, and other applicable valuation methodologies.

  • Develop, review, and implement valuation models across a range of portfolio company situations.

  • Conduct market and economic research relating to portfolio companies, industries, and countries.

  • Manage and support annual audits, internal audits, and interim auditor reviews.

  • Drive enhancements to valuation and reporting processes, procedures, AI automation capabilities, and valuation technology solutions.

  • Manage the development of presentation materials used to communicate valuation results to business unit leaders, firm management, and investors.

  • Lead discussions, maintain relationships, and provide deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline required; CFA and/or CPA designation preferred.

  • Five to ten years of valuation experience.

  • Experience in transaction services, financial planning and analysis, corporate development, consulting, data analytics, or private company valuation is a plus; Big Four valuation practice experience is also preferred.

  • Thorough understanding of ASC 820 and related valuation guidance.

  • Familiarity with a broad range of valuation methodologies, including income, market, Option Pricing Model (OPM), contingent claims analysis, and other relevant approaches.

  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while executing multiple deliverables, projects, and initiatives on a timely basis.

  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including confidence presenting to senior-level audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with sophisticated investors and professionals at all levels.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy.

  • Proficiency with valuation technology solutions, agentic AI, advanced data analytics, and data visualization tools.

  • Working knowledge of Claude, ChatGPT, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, PitchBook, and Dynamo is an advantage.
