Position Objective:

The Senior Diversity Equity and Inclusion Consultant will support the CDEIO in designing and implementing strategy and consulting with leaders and staff on initiatives to advance the LH JEDI journey and the efforts to progress in the HEART recommendations.

The SDEIC works cross-collaboratively partnering with key stakeholder groups to implement and administer inclusion and diversity campaigns and initiatives that connect to our strategic inclusion pillars and organizational inclusion brand strategy, Inclusion Includes Y.O.U. Through the RISE values the role supports the JEDI strategy with efforts that increase cultural competency programming, design, implement, facilitate and measure training efforts, and create and initiate programs to eliminate health disparities and adverse health outcomes. The role will work closely with population and community health teams to increase LH footprint in diverse communities and enhance community partnerships. The position will design, organize and lead projects to enhance the patient and employee experience for all demographics. The position will facilitate local leadership for all areas within the scope of the D&I Department for a specific line of business/ entity acting as the first line liaison in all JEDI related works including but not limited to escalated employee relations diversity issues, business resource and inclusion group initiatives, diversity data and analytics.

The role requires collaboration and team building expertise, project coordination and professional consultation specialty, and a distinct leadership understanding.

 This role collaborates with staff and leaders within business lines of Luminis Health providing design and strategic support to enhance inclusion and strengthen the LH JEDI brand internally across the system and externally throughout and across potential service areas.

The position performs professional equity driven duties in coordination of the DEI Specialist and under direct guidance and supervision of the CDEIO.

Essential Job Duties:

Responsible for conceptualizing, developing, communicating, and implementing programs and processes that align our current and future culture and workforce with equitable business results. Works collaboratively with all departments and functions to optimize efficiencies and implement DEI strategies.

  1. Develops, implements, and maintains a cultural framework to drive organization strategy and values.
  2. Researches, develops, and implements best practices. Assesses organizations performance to industry norm and aligns practices with business needs, initiatives, and strategic direction. Recognize and acknowledge existing racial and other identity-based inequities and biases, both internal and external and lead the organization and partnerships to collectively address them.
  3. Provides advisement to leaders to enhance inclusion and overall organizational culture.
  4. Serves as an advisor to the organization to provide guidance and to improve individual, team, and organizational JEDI effectiveness.
  5. Interfaces with partners, collaborators, colleagues to identify organizational culture and development needs.
  6. Develops and implements project plans and leads project management phases for culture engagements to attain desired outcomes and accomplish objectives within specified timeframe and budget.
  7. Researches trends and remains current with DEI Culture organizational developments, techniques, and technologies to support current and changing needs of the organization.
  8. Develops, monitors, analyzes, and reports on key performance indicators regarding programmatic practice, internal and external DEI metrics, JEDI Scorecard, HEART recommendations, for organizational culture.
  9. Implement and maintain diversity, equity and inclusion and culture education and training for executive leadership, management, and employees at all levels.
  10. Lead and collaborate with DEI champions and stakeholders to create an inclusive network driving DEI advancement and systems change in the community. Responsible for the desire and ability to engage with workforce diversity, DEI champions, and leadership to promote RISE values and advancement in the JEDI journey.
  11. Manage and coordinate health equity initiatives
  12. Interpret, report, and present on diversity reporting and workforce data analytics
  13. Promote and advise on the strategic direction of 8 or more inclusion groups
  14. Design and facilitate DEI training programs
  15. Assess and advise on issues of bias and discrimination and employee concern and patient complaints related to disparity of care and inequitable treatment
  16. Manage cultural campaigns and routine projects and events
  17. Manage and organize messaging and Marcom strategies
  18. Mergers/Acquisitions, assist with on-boarding and introduction to Luminis Health DEI
  19. Other duties as assigned in support of and by the CDEIO

Educational/Experience Requirements:

Required Minimum Education. The minimum level of education for this position includes:

  • MA/MS in Business, Sociology, Psychology, Health Administration, HR, Education, Ethnic Studies, LGBTQ Studies, or related field
  • 3-5 years' experience with leading diversity strategic methods and approaches creating sustainable competitive advantage through human capital (coaching, consulting, 3 facilitation, culture strategy development and deployment, employee engagement, change management, conflict resolution, etc.)
  • 2-4 years of experience developing and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion programs
  • 3-5 years of project management experience - developing and implementing strategic initiatives and leading organizational change
  • 3-5 years of experience in conducting team sessions, workshops, coaching, etc.
  • 3-5 years working with leadership effectively coaching and consulting
  • 3-5 years of Intermediate level of MS package Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,
  • 3-5 years of Intermediate level of virtual presentation platforms: ZOOM, MS Teams
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in project management
  • Minimum 3 years' data analytics and report analysis
  • Knowledge in EEO and diversity recruitment and Supplier Diversity a plus
  • Clinical or direct experience in the healthcare preferred

Excellent influencing, verbal, written, and presentation skills are a must

Required License/Certifications:

  • None Required
    • EEO Certified preferred
    • Project Management certified a plus

Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
