Overview

Milton Rents is hiring Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Equipment to support a modern, well-maintained fleet of construction rental equipment. This role is ideal for technicians with experience in diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, preventive maintenance, and equipment repair.

Technicians work in a professional, team-oriented environment and collaborate daily with yard personnel, drivers, counter staff, and branch managers. You'll service late-model equipment and play a key role in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently.

Pay range: $29.00 - $36.00/hour based on experience.

Responsibilities

Heavy Equipment Repair

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and mechanical repairs on rental construction equipment
  • Travel to job sites for on-site maintenance, service and repairs
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through positive, solutionfocused interactions.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
  • Use diagnostic software, gauges, and specialized tools to identify equipment issues
  • Test-run equipment to verify repairs and ensure operational safety
  • Train and mentor technicians

Documentation & Teamwork

  • Complete work orders, service reports, and maintenance records accurately and on time
  • Support shop and customer workflow and assist other technicians as needed
Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience as a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic, rental, construction or fleet mechanic.
  • High school diploma, trade school certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Strong diagnostic skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate vehicles safely
  • Personal set of professional-grade mechanic's tools
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
