In this role, you will evaluate heavy earthmoving and agricultural equipment for purchase or trade-in, support equipment valuation, provide technical training, and help ensure used machines meet Quinn's high standards for performance and safety.

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It:
  • Inspect Heavy Equipment: Evaluate the running condition of used earthmoving and agricultural equipment using CATUSED.COM and other resources.
  • Estimate Repairs & Value: Determine condition, estimate repair costs, and recommend whether to purchase or accept equipment as a trade-in.
  • Provide Technical Expertise: Offer technical guidance to improve products sold and serviced by Quinn.
  • Document Inspections: Maintain detailed inspection records, including photographs and condition reports.
  • Support Internal Teams: Provide technical support to Sales Managers, Sales Representatives, and Service Departments on items such as PIPs and attachments.
  • Review Repairs: Evaluate service repairs for accuracy, cost, and overall quality.
  • Travel for Inspections: Visit customer or purchaser sites both within and outside your local territory to conduct inspections and demonstrations.
  • Stay Current on Machinery: Research new Caterpillar equipment to understand new features, options, and operating procedures.
  • Maintain Tools & Vehicle: Keep department vehicle and all technical inspection tools in proper working condition.

Qualifications
What You Need to Succeed:
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree desirable
  • 5-7 years of related experience as an equipment technician or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong diagnostic abilities and substantial knowledge of heavy equipment
  • Valid California driver's license for travel, inspections, and equipment demonstrations
  • Ability to estimate repairs, evaluate performance, and identify equipment condition
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel as required
