Job Summary: Manage equipment department with $300 million in revenue and over $100 million in assets.  Overall objective: Ensure a high level of equipment readiness for all jobs at any given time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visualize, fulfill, and implement the vision and core values.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate current processes and organizational structure.  Recommend and implement changes to improve department and company results.
  • Own the capital expenditure strategy for all company equipment.
  • Optimize fleet and equipment utilization across the company. 
  • Identify unused/unproductive equipment and determine what to sell, rebuild, reallocate, etc.
  • Supervise and lead others in the equipment department.  Hold team members accountable to company desired outcomes and processes while driving a high level of team member engagement.
  • Generate equipment rates.
  • Partner with project teams to determine project specific equipment strategy. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Financial Acumen – Understanding of and ability to make decisions using company and department P&L.
  • Sense of Urgency – Ability to make sound decisions timely in fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills – Ability to give and receive honest feedback while driving team member engagement.
  • Strong customer service mentality.
  • Ability to get work done through others using effective delegation, scheduling, and time management practices.
  • Strong problem solving and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of DOT regulations for working across multiple states in the western US.
  • Understanding of HCSS Suite of Services (HCSS Dispatcher, etc.)
  • Familiarity with and experience working with collective bargaining agreements.
