POWER EQUIPMENT DEPARTMENT HEAD
Reports to: Store Manager, Assistant Manager or Supervisor on Duty
Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly, FULL-TIME
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide excellent customer service and maximize sales through efficient execution of Company procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist customers with product selection, special order requests, and product-related questions.
  • Greet customers promptly and maintain a positive, friendly, and professional attitude at all times.
  • Stock, rotate, and organize merchandise in assigned departments to ensure product availability and proper presentation.
  • Learn and retain company policies, procedures, and product knowledge through required training programs.
  • Remove damaged merchandise and assist with managing overstocks and inventory accuracy.
  • Set and maintain department merchandising, promotional displays, advertisements, and signage according to company standards.
  • Identify and display new merchandise with management approval.
  • Create and maintain attractive in-aisle, end cap, and feature displays while helping customers locate merchandise efficiently.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by following loss prevention and safety procedures and conducting regular safety checks.
  • Attend required meetings and stay informed of company updates and communications.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, management, and fellow team members.
  • Comply with all company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist with price changes, markdowns, labeling, and inventory-related tasks.
  • Operate cash registers and process customer transactions accurately.
  • Assist customers with carryout purchases as needed.
  • Maintain an organized stockroom and support inventory control efforts.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Consistent attendance for regularly scheduled work shifts is required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous retail experience is preferred; a minimum of six months of retail experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Positive attitude and strong commitment to teamwork and customer service.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds occasionally engaging in assisted lifting over 50 pounds, specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
