Job description

This opportunity is with a growing, private equity–backed manufacturing company that produces specialized industrial materials. The business is entering a significant expansion phase, with new investments in scale, market diversification, and operational excellence.

The organization operates with a lean and fast-paced culture that values initiative, collaboration, and practical execution. As part of its strategic growth, a centralized Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is being developed to lead key enterprise initiatives across operations, manufacturing, and new business development.

About the Role

The Senior Project Manager will be a critical part of the newly established EPMO, responsible for converting strategic priorities into actionable outcomes. This individual will lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives spanning integration, manufacturing optimization, and business growth programs.

This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys both structure and creativity — a professional who can build clarity in ambiguous settings, align diverse teams, and ensure major projects progress efficiently in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex, enterprise-level projects across operations, engineering, and supply chain.
  • Translate strategic goals into detailed project plans with clear deliverables and measurable results.
  • Apply both traditional project management and Agile practices (such as iterative planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives) based on project needs.
  • Drive collaboration across departments, ensuring alignment and accountability.
  • Identify interdependencies, assess risks, and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and priorities to executive sponsors and key stakeholders.
  • Develop templates, tools, and best practices that contribute to the maturity of the EPMO function.
  • Act as a change agent, helping teams adopt new ways of working while maintaining a focus on outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, operations, or similarly complex environments (including 3+ years leading cross-functional initiatives outside of IT).
  • Strong track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and balancing strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience working in both structured and evolving environments.
  • Skilled at integrating traditional and Agile methodologies to fit team maturity and project complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • PMP, CSP, or equivalent project management certification required.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Planner, Jira, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in private equity–backed, R&D-driven, or industrial/manufacturing settings.
  • Familiarity with design thinking or customer-centered approaches to innovation.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills across functions and levels.

Who You Are

  • A process builder who thrives on developing structure within emerging functions.
  • Adaptable and solution-oriented, comfortable with changing priorities.
  • Highly organized and pragmatic, balancing rigor with flexibility.
  • Effective in leading diverse teams and influencing without direct authority.
  • Results-driven, focused on delivering business impact rather than process for its own sake.

Why Join

  • High Impact: Lead initiatives that directly influence enterprise strategy and growth.
  • Visibility: Partner closely with executive sponsors and senior leadership.
  • Opportunity: Shape and establish the EPMO’s foundational practices.
  • Culture: Collaborative, lean, and results-oriented environment focused on progress and problem-solving.
