Job description

An opportunity is available for a pharmacist to support central pharmacy operations in a hospital setting. This evening shift role focuses primarily on medication product verification and coordination of pharmacy workflow to ensure accuracy, safety, and efficiency.

Position Details:

  • Specialty: Pharmacist
  • Openings: 1
  • Shift: Evenings, 2:30pm - 12:30am, 7 days on / 7 days off (schedule may vary; guaranteed 36 hours weekly)
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks with a strong possibility of extension
  • Required Licensure: Valid Missouri Pharmacist License
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred; new graduates will be considered
  • EMR System: EPIC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and check medications, kits, crash carts, prepackaged items, IVs, creams, insulin pens, and other pharmacy products using EPIC dispense prep
  • Coordinate workflow within the central pharmacy during evening shift
  • Ensure code carts are restocked correctly and pharmacy stock is maintained
  • Oversee and direct the workflow of pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient operations, without formal supervisory duties
  • Collaborate with pharmacists focused on order review and related tasks during evening hours

Training will span approximately 2-3 weeks, primarily focusing on product verification processes and EPIC system navigation. The central pharmacy team includes a mix of pharmacists and technicians; this role serves as the primary pharmacist overseeing operational activities in the evening.
