The Epic Application Analyst supports the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Epic software applications across clinical and operational environments. This role partners with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to support system optimization, workflow improvements, application stability, and high-quality patient care.

Purpose
The Epic Application Analyst supports the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Epic software applications. This role collaborates with clinical and operational teams to analyze workflows, design system solutions, and ensure reliable application performance while supporting organizational initiatives, operational excellence, and high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
Application Implementation and Support
  • Analyze clinical, business, and technical processes to develop effective system solutions
  • Configure, build, implement, maintain, and optimize Epic applications supporting clinical and operational workflows
  • Manage application implementations, upgrades, and enhancement projects
  • Provide technical and application support to clinical users, operational staff, and Information Technology teams

Workflow Analysis and Optimization
  • Conduct workflow analysis to identify opportunities for operational improvement
  • Design and implement application solutions that support departmental and organizational needs
  • Collaborate with operational stakeholders to prioritize application enhancements
  • Recommend workflow improvements that increase efficiency, user satisfaction, and system utilization

System Maintenance and Troubleshooting
  • Maintain and support installed Epic application software
  • Perform debugging, testing, implementation, and maintenance of software modules
  • Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate timely resolution
  • Ensure all application changes comply with established change management procedures

Documentation and Training
  • Create and maintain documentation for assigned Epic applications
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute testing plans for supported applications
  • Partner with IT educators to update training plans, educational materials, and technical documentation

Customer and Vendor Liaison
  • Serve as liaison between Information Technology, vendors, clinical users, and operational stakeholders

Marginal or Periodic Functions
  • Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance as assigned
  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting enterprise clinical applications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in application support, healthcare IT, or a related technical environment
  • Experience supporting, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise software applications
  • Experience collaborating with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to support application optimization and workflow improvements
  • Knowledge of healthcare information technology principles, software development, and systems analysis
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Licenses/Registrations/Certifications

  • Epic Certification in a relevant module

Preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Salary Range
$85,000+ depending on qualifications
