Job description

HealthPartners is currently hiring a Quality Engineer. The Quality Engineer is part of a team that supports multiple healthcare applications, the desktop environment, and HealthPartners infrastructure. This role supports the delivery of highquality software by performing application regression, and automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle. The Quality Engineer helps maintain quality standards, supports desktop and electronic medical record (Epic) updates, and manages physical and virtual test environments. This role also contributes to usability testing, performance benchmarking, and quality metrics tracking, while providing quality assurance support for Infrastructure and Care Delivery initiatives.

The role reports to the Manager of Quality Assurance and Infrastructure Support and is part of a collaborative team of four professionals, including one engineer and three analysts. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field 
  • Four (4) years of experience in software testing, including developing test scripts and test scenarios. 
  • Two (2) years of experience following quality engineering procedures or demonstrated in-depth knowledge of quality engineering practices. 
  • Knowledge of testing best practices and methodologies 
  • Experience utilizing automated testing tools, with preference given to UiPath and Power Automate. 
  • Required experience with GitHub for version control, Zephyr for test management, Jira for work tracking, and PowerShell for scripting and automation. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Preferred experience includes working with APIs and Swagger, remote automation execution tools, Power BI, and AIdriven test automation. Experience writing database queries is also preferred. 
  • Certifications in testing processes and procedures (e.g., CSQE, CAST, CSQA). 

Hours/Location: 

  • M-F; core business hours 
  • This is a hybrid position with the flexibility to work primarily remotely. On average, team members are expected to be onsite one day per week for workgroup sessions and meetings. Additional onsite presence may be required periodically based on business needs. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Participates in all testing activities for small to large-scale initiatives. 
  • Builds robust and high-quality test automation solutions for functional, regression and performance testing. 
  • Supports and partners in implementing test automation frameworks to reduce manual tests. 
  • Assists with or develops high quality test automation scripts. 
  • Prepares test environments and ensures the appropriate data is available for quality engineering activities. 
  • Resolves testing issues with development team, vendors, and business users. 
  • Utilizes and recommends changes to the quality engineering and IT testing programs. 
  • Creates documentation and reports that show test results and defect trends. 
  • Analyzes data, making improvements and recommendations to management. 
  • Works with teams on test data management to support automation and other activities. 
  • Maintains awareness of the latest developments in quality engineering and brings forward opportunities that might benefit HealthPartners. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
