  • Orientation: Jumpstart program, EPIC training, and 1-2 days on unit
  • Floating: May float to like units as needed, including MedSurg and telemetry-related units
  • Patient Ratio: 3-4:1 on progressive care, 4-5:1 on MedSurg
Job Requirements
  • Active Indiana RN license or compact RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU, stepdown, or progressive care nursing experience
  • Previous neuro experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • NIH certification required, or ability to obtain before start
  • EPIC charting experience preferred
  • Ability to work night shifts in a team-based acute care environment
Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for neuro stepdown and progressive care patients
  • Monitor patient status, assess changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
  • Administer medications, perform nursing assessments, and document care accurately in EPIC
  • Manage drip titration when experienced and support telemetry or MedSurg needs when floated
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to support patient outcomes
  • Maintain patient safety, comfort, and continuity of care throughout the shift
  • Adapt to floating assignments and remain flexible in a dynamic acute care hospital setting
