Job Requirements
  • Minimum 18 months of MICU experience required; 2 years preferred
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current AHA or Red Cross BLS and ACLS certifications required at submission
  • NIHSS certification required prior to start
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Strong critical care skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation, arterial line management, central line care, vasoactive drips, cardiac drips, ventilator care, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP, IV sedation, and isolation precautions
  • Comfortable working night shifts in a high-acuity ICU setting
  • Ability to complete all pre-start compliance items and orientation modules
  • Previous experience in a teaching hospital or short-term acute care setting is a plus
Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care nursing to critically ill adult patients in the MICU
  • Monitor patient status closely and respond quickly to changes in condition
  • Manage arterial lines, central lines, ventilator support, and complex IV therapies
  • Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips according to patient needs and clinical protocols
  • Interpret dysrhythmias, ABGs, and other critical indicators to guide care decisions
  • Administer medications and support continuous IV sedation safely and accurately
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote optimal patient outcomes
  • Document care accurately and in a timely manner in Epic
  • Follow infection prevention, isolation, and safety standards at all times
  • Adapt to unit needs and float within scope when required
