About this opportunity:

This position plays a critical role in the end-to-end regulatory lifecycle management of oil and gas wells, with a focus on downhole reporting, annual compliance reporting, and operational activities, including abandonment and reclamation documentation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering completions and operations data, including abandonment reports, status changes, well tests, and inspections. They will analyze well data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements, manage regulatory obligations, and develop a strong understanding of applicable regulatory frameworks and well lifecycle requirements. The Analyst will identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to the development and enhancement of internal procedures that align Well Asset Management practices with corporate strategy and regulatory compliance objectives.

What you'll do:

  • Submit required downhole operational activity to the Regulator in required format in all provinces Cenovus operates.

  • Submit operational testing and inspection information to the Regulator to ensure compliance with regulations.

  • Create and maintain relationships with Well Delivery, Land, and Asset teams for timely submissions.

  • Update and maintain the digital Well File throughout its life cycle.

  • Correctly record key lifecycle elements and changes in the well management database.

  • Track jobs and prioritize submission deadlines within the tracking tool. Complete all submissions prior to their deadline and support the team in doing the same.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Post-secondary diploma in Energy Asset Management preferred. Certificate in Petroleum Land, or equivalent technical program in well related focus will be considered.

  • 2+ years of experience in downhole reporting or well licensing activities, or a combination of experience and education in both.

  • 2+ years of progressive administrative experience and knowledge of the oil & gas regulatory directives, manuals and guidelines in western Canada

  • Demonstrated knowledge of well, land, and public data systems (AccuMap, Abadata, WellView, CS Land/LandView, Stack, SAP, Generwell, Petrinex, IRIS, OneStop, DDS)
