Job description

The Clinical Informatics Specialist supports clinical operations by optimizing electronic health record (EHR) workflows, improving system usability, and ensuring alignment between technology and patient care delivery. This role serves as a critical bridge between frontline staff, operational leadership, and IT, with a focus on Epic (including Rover), workflow design, system enhancements, and end-user support.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 5:00pm 

Location:

Larkspur, CA

**This position is primarily remote, with required onsite presence during orientation, key operational events such as go-live initiatives, system upgrades, TS onsite support, occasional Epic training support coverage, and immersion visits to ensure effective adoption and real-time support of clinical workflows.** MUST RESIDE IN CALIFORNIA

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Clinical Workflow & System Optimization 

  • Analyze, design, and optimize clinical workflows within Epic and related systems 
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, documentation, and user experience 
  • Support implementation of new workflows 

EHR (Epic) Support & Build 

  • Configure, test, and maintain Epic applications 
  • Support upgrades, enhancements, and system changes 
  • Ensure system build aligns with clinical and operational needs 

Epic Classroom Training 

  • Provide occasional onsite Epic training support coverage during Principal Trainer leave periods as part of a rotating team approach 

Go-Live & End-User Support 

  • Provide hands-on, at-the-elbow support during go-lives, upgrades, and key initiatives 
  • Travel onsite as needed to support clinical teams during high-impact events  
  • Troubleshoot issues and respond to urgent end-user needs, including real-time communication channels 

Operational Support & Issue Resolution 

  • Manage and respond to informatics-related troubleshooting tickets and requests 
  • Investigate, triage, and resolve system issues impacting end users and clinical workflows 
  • Prioritize tickets based on operational urgency and impact 

On-Call Support 

  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical system issues and urgent operational needs 

Stakeholder Collaboration 

  • Partner with clinical leaders, operations, and interdisciplinary teams to translate needs into system solutions 
  • Serve as liaison between frontline users and technical teams 

Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement 

  • Support regulatory requirements and quality initiatives 
  • Identify opportunities for system and workflow improvement 
  • Participate in governance and prioritization processes 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • Clinical background strongly preferred (Registered Nurse highly desirable) 
  • Experience in Home Health and/or Hospice care strongly preferred 
  • 3+ years of experience in clinical informatics, healthcare operations, or EHR support 
  • Experience with Epic systems required (Rover experience strongly preferred) 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Licensure as applicable if licensed healthcare professional.

Pay Range:
$130K - $150K annually
