Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client seeking a Clinical Informaticist to serve as the bridge between clinical operations and information technology. This individual will partner closely with providers, nurses, operational leaders, and IT teams to optimize clinical workflows, enhance user experience, and support ongoing improvements within the Cerner environment. This is a highly visible role focused on workflow design, system optimization, user support, training, upgrades, and continuous improvement across ambulatory clinical operations.
Responsibilities:
* Partner with physicians, nurses, clinic staff, leadership, and IT teams to evaluate and improve clinical workflows
* Support the full lifecycle of clinical applications, including assessment, build, testing, implementation, optimization, upgrades, and maintenance
* Provide hands-on support to end users through onsite rounding and troubleshooting activities
* Drive future-state workflow design leveraging clinical and application knowledge
* Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on software enhancements, upgrades, and new functionality testing
* Analyze system issues and application performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
* Support inbound and outbound interfaces and assist with issue resolution
* Educate clinicians on appropriate system use and promote adoption of technology solutions
* Develop training materials, job aids, and documentation for end users
* Monitor project progress, track deliverables, and escalate risks as needed
* Develop and track operational and clinical KPIs
* Participate in enterprise committees as a clinical operations and IT liaison
* Partner with leadership to identify subject matter experts and support project initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
* 2+ years of experience supporting clinical applications through implementation, testing, and ongoing support
* 1+ years of healthcare IT (HCIT) consulting experience
* Experience working with clinical workflows in a healthcare setting
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work effectively with providers, clinical staff, leadership, and technical teams
* Self-starter with strong problem-solving and organizational skills
* Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* Cerner experience strongly preferred
* Ambulatory workflow experience
* Clinical background (RN, MA, provider, or other healthcare professional)
* Experience supporting provider, nursing, front office, ancillary, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, medication administration, or orders workflows
* Experience supporting system upgrades, go-lives, optimization initiatives, and end-user training
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
