Emergency Medicine Physician Job Details
  • Location: New Ulm, MN Southern Minnesota
  • Practice Setting: Hospital/Medical Center Single Coverage Emergency Room
  • Contract Length: Ongoing locum tenens contract, starting March 9, 2026 (MN license required)
  • Shifts: 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am), mix of days and nights
  • Shifts per Month: 6-8 shifts per month
  • Hospital Bed Size: 11
  • Patient Census: 15-25 patients per shift, all ages
  • EMR: EPIC
Qualifications
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (preferred), or Family Practice with significant emergency department experience
  • Active Minnesota medical license
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in emergency medicine, preferably at community hospital sites
  • DEA registration
  • Certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS or CALS
  • Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in Minnesota or neighboring states
Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality emergency medical care to patients of all ages in a single coverage ER
  • Efficiently manage a busy patient load with seasonal fluctuations
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RT, Psych, Teleintensivist, Ortho, Gen Surg, OB/GYN, CRNA, and mid-level providers
  • Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate documentation and patient management
  • Participate in hospital orientation and credentialing processes
