Job description

Our portfolio includes projects for leading beverage, food processing, and renewable energy companies, offering exposure to cutting-edge work across diverse industries.
We are seeking an experienced EPC Project Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will take on challenging projects with great clients, managing all aspects of projects from business development and scope/fee development to staffing plans, project oversight and execution, quality management, and financial performance. Specifically, this role will oversee the following:
Project Execution:
  • Coordinate and lead all aspects of project execution including scope, work schedule, procurement and budget tracking, and preparing detailed project plans for submittal.
  • Execute project plan, monitor progress of assigned project team member assignments and deliverables with respect to scope, schedule and budget, and if necessary, promptly adjust project plans to achieve project goals.
  • Populate "Deliverables Calendar" with project specified deliverables/milestones (i.e. draft and final reports, designs, documents, workshops, public meetings etc.) When drafting project plan and revise as necessary if the schedule is modified.
  • Populate workload planning and tracking software (iAccess) with personnel and hours required on a weekly basis to execute the project.
  • Prepare for and conduct internal project kick off meetings.
  • Prepare for and lead project status meetings with project team and/or client, as required.
  • Keep client, project team, and firm management informed of changes in scope, schedule and/or budget.
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion if they arise during the project life cycle.
  • Prepare project postmortem and manage project closure process, including archiving project files in accordance with established procedures and preparation of a project description for marketing purpose.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for changes in company's project delivery procedures.

Budget Management:
  • Assure project legal documents (i.e., contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, certificates of insurance)
  • Continuously monitor the project budget and track and report hours and expenses to project team members on a weekly basis.
  • Submit, promptly, project related invoices from subconsultants, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers to Accounting with any applicable disposition instructions.
  • Determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensure timely and accurate invoicing, and monitor receivables for project
  • Follow up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.

Business Development:
  • Assist marketing/sales department by supporting or leading proposal efforts including developing of project scope, estimating LOE and expenses, and preparing preliminary project schedules.
  • Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations in client pursuits, meetings and professional organizations.
  • Develop lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties by building a knowledge base of each client's business, organization and objectives.
  • Seek, continually, opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Identify business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
  • Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and their potential application on client engagements.

The successful candidate must have all of the following:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction or related field

AND
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience, of which at least 2 years must be at the project manager level

OR
  • No degree with at least 11 years of relevant experience of which at least 2 years must be at the project manager level

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers through design, equipment procurement, bidding, construction, and commissioning project phases.
  • Technical familiarity with engineering practices, specifically process mechanical, electrical, and controls.
  • Proven ability to lead teams of construction personnel and subcontractors
  • Experience with wastewater treatment, renewable natural gas, waste receiving, and/or anaerobic digestion process design preferred.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, between strategic initiatives with longer due dates and tactical execution of tasks on urgent and immediate timelines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, MS Project)
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • PE preferred
  • Ability to travel
