Job description

Envision is seeking part-time and per diem Pediatricians to support our Pediatric Emergency Department at Medical City Children's Hospital. As part of our tertiary children's hospital team, you will work alongside Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to care for lower-acuity pediatric patients, ensuring timely access to emergency services during peak seasonal demand.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and manage pediatric patients presenting with lower-acuity complaints in the emergency department.
  • Collaborate with Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians and APPs for coordinated patient care.
  • Provide compassionate, family-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
  • Board-certified in Pediatrics.
  • Current Texas medical license,
  • Commitment to teamwork and patient- and family-centered care.
  • Prior emergency medicine or urgent care experience preferred but not required.

Pediatric Profile:
  • 19 Pediatric ED Beds + 2 Triage Spaces
  • 39,000 pediatric annual volume
  • 9-hour shifts
  • Meditech EMR
  • On-site pediatric cardiology, cardiac surgery, GI, hematology/oncology, nephrology, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, ENT, surgery, urology, and plastic surgery

Facility Information
Medical City Children's Hospital is the flagship children's hospital of the large network of Medical City Hospitals. The hospital is a 254-bed, award-winning, pediatric healthcare facility, delivering specialized pediatric care. It boasts a 37-bed pediatric med-surg unit supported by a PICU and CVICU with a robust ECMO program. The emergency medicine group works alongside exceptional subspecialists in pediatric surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, neurology, nephrology, pulmonology, ENT, cardiology and infectious disease. The site also operates a pediatric hematology-oncology program, in addition to a psychiatric hospital with dedicated pediatric services. Located on the same campus, Medical City Dallas includes a Level IV NICU and adult hospital, making it the only hospital in the DFW metroplex to offer comprehensive care for all ages including, women and infant services under the same roof.
